WARCHEST’s New Music Video ‘Fake Disciples’ Is A Riff Fest

Hello there rabid ass thrashers. Your thrash metal news correspondent is back today with WARCHEST, this time from the South American country of Chile. ‘Fake Disciples’ is taken from their new and latest record Downfall released via Digmetalworld Records in North America. The video is a montage of whose different scenes and takes were filmed the ‘Sobredosis 2’ Festival at Arena Recoleta on Nov 26, 2016 in Santiago, Chile. Sounding very true to the old school thrash roots and breathing some new wave thrash in it they are a perfect amalgamation of the old school and new age thrash metal. The riffs are pretty fast and aggressive. Mix some rash and pissed off vocals, and incredibly fast drumming and some tasty grooves you get WARCHEST. If you’re fans of old schoolers like Exodus or Death Angel or modern day thrashers Havok, you’d definitely dig this track. Speed, aggression and everything vile, this band has it all. I just stumbled upon them recently and all I can say is the black hole of thrash has pulled me in again. WARCHEST is surely one to keep an eye out for.  Continue reading

COMEBACK KID Announce Euro Tour & Release New Track “Absolute”!

Canada’s hardcore punk band Comeback Kid has announced the release of their 6th full length studio album, ‘Outsider’, for September 8, 2017. Outsider will be released through Nuclear Blast records and New Damage records in Canada.

They’ve recently released a single from the album titled “Absolute” which features Devin Townsend. If this is any indication of what we should expect from the entire album, we’ll all be very happy. It thrashes, it pulsates, it absolutely screams punk-in-your-face-bold-radness! You can instantly picture yourself in the pit, screaming at the top of your lungs along with the band and beating the crap out of your fellow concert goers. Their previous work has been fantastic. Dare I even say, magnuflorious. But, ‘Absolute’ is a punk wet dream in comparison! It has all of the elements you look for – speed, thrashing guitars, screaming vocals, grinding bass, and pounding/earsplitting drums. The video is below. Do yourself a favor and turn it up to 11. JOSH TODD & THE CONFLICT Feat. BUCKCHERRY Members Release ‘Year Of The Tiger’ Music Video

JOSH TODD & THE CONFLICT has recently released a killer music video titled, ‘Year Of The Tiger‘ from their upcoming debut album, “Year Of The Tiger, due out September 15 on Century Media Records, which features members from BUCKCHERRY(California). Chris Cuffaro who has also previously shared his work with PEARL JAMGEORGE MICHAEL responsible for the direction of this video.

Speaking about the first single and title track, Josh says,
The album’s title track,
‘Year Of The Tiger’, was one of the first songs we wrote for the record and also became one of my favorite songs I have ever written. Like most good songs, it came together very quickly. As soon as Stevie sent me the music, the lyrics and melodies poured out of me.

He further adds, I’m a huge fan of ‘Hannibal’ and the show ‘Narcos’, while also being into the big cats. In ‘Hannibal’, they had a character that would feed despicable people to his pigs and I thought that was pretty demented and interesting. Also, I am always fascinated with people that have the balls to choose a life of crime, so this track is about a guy living on the edge with a manhunt going on for his life ending in death by tigers. Album Review : MARZI MONTAZERI Ft. TIM “Ripper” OWENS – “THE UPRISING” [Live Videos]

Known for his groundbreaking musicianship and energetic showmanship, Marzi Montazeri AKA “The High Priest Of Distortion” is a guitarist, producer, and songwriter from Houston, Texas. Currently the guitarist for Heavy As Texas, Marzi has been the man behind the axe for Superjoint Ritual and more recently in 2010, he rejoined with Philip Anselmo to work on Anselmo’s first solo project, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals. In 2015, Montazeri and Washburn Parallax Guitars united to co-design his own signature electric guitar series called “The Priestess”. Montazeri’s collaborations as a guest artist include Prong, Doug Pinnick (Razr 13), Defiatory, and the Judas Priest tribute record ‘Hell Bent Forever’, also featuring the vocalist on this album, Tim “Ripper” Owens.  It was through this tribute how he came to know Mr. Owens. “A while ago I was asked to play a couple of solos on the tribute album ‘Hell Bent Forever’ and the track was, “Exciter”” recalls Marzi of first meeting Owens. “When I arrived, Tim was walking out of the vocal booth for the evening. I was blown away by his performance and personality. He’s a super cool and funny dude. So when it came to this EP where I knew I wanted a powerful metal vocalist, I just made a call to him and here we are with some original music.” Tim Owens is a Grammy-nominated American hard rock singer who first gained attention as the vocalist for Judas Priest (1996-2003) and then Iced Earth and Yngwie Malmsteen. Owens currently tours the world as a solo artist and performs as the lead singer of Charred Walls Of The Damned. Also worth noting, the movie Rockstar (featuring Mark Walhberg) was loosely based on Owens’ time in Judas Priest. In 2001, Marzi released his first solo effort ‘The Need’ and after 16 years, he has come back with what could be some of his best solo work yet with ‘The Uprising’.   Continue reading

MISERY SIGNALS To Release Documentary, “Yesterday Was Everything” On June 30th.

Misery Signals got their start in 2002 and quickly gained notoriety after the release of 2004’s critically acclaimed record ‘Of Malice and the Magnum Heart’; an album which breathed fresh life into the genre with the band’s signature style of aggressive riffs, melodic bridges and atmospheric elements and went on to be one of the most influential metalcore albums of the last decade. Following the departure of vocalist Jesse Zaraska, the band went on to release three more albums, Mirrors (2006), Controller (2008) and Absent Light (2013) with Karl Schubach taking over vocal duties, which were all praised by fans within the metal/hardcore scenes.

Over the last decade influential hardcore band Misery Signals has undergone overwhelming changes involving the departure of their founding singer and infighting that nearly left the band in complete shambles. In a new documentary, directed by Matthew Mixon, titled “Yesterday Was Everything,” the band takes viewers on an intimate journey of reconciliation as they find healing in the present by confronting the demons of their past. The documentary will be available on June 30th at iTunes, Google Play and Amazon. The band will be doing an in-theater screening of the documentary in Edmonton, AB on June 20th (7:00pm at Metro Cinema at the Garneau, 8712 109th Street, Edmonton AB) with partial proceeds being donated to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
