Josh Todd Of BUCKCHERRY “The Type Of Rock We’re Doing Has Never Been Mainstream.”

Buckcherry have had their share of ups and downs over the bands nearly quarter century of existence. From their breakout hit, ‘Lit Up’, off of 1999’s self titled debut the band brought back a sense of danger and sex appeal to rock and roll when down tuned guitars and rapped vocals had taken over the mainstream. The band broke up after dismal sales for their follow up, ‘Timebomb’, but were resurrected years later when they self released 2006’s ’15’ which included the mega hit ‘Crazy Bitch’ singles ‘Sorry’ and ‘Everything’, putting the band back into arenas opening for Kid Rock and Motley Crue.  Since then the band hasn’t looked back with a myriad of lineup changes which sees vocalist Josh Todd as the sole original member. Buckcherry released their 8th album, ‘Warpaint’, early in 2019 and have been bringing their high energy, infectious brand of hard rock to eager fans worldwide. Continue reading

Review: BUCKCHERRY – ‘Warpaint’ [Official Videos]

When Buckcherry first burst onto the scene in 1999 with their self titled debut , they were breath of musical fresh air in a time of post grunge, pop punk and nu metal. Here was band that harkened back to the old school sounds of Guns n Roses and AC/DC with an in your face, keep it simple style and plenty of attitude. Their raucous, sleaze anthem “Lit Up” blew up on the radio airwaves becoming their first and only number one hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart . Another album followed in 2001 ‘Time Bomb,’ didn’t do quite as well and the band dissolved. Then something unexpected happened. Singer Josh Todd and founding guitarist Keith Nelson reformed the band with a new lineup in 2006 and released arguably their most successful album “15” which contained two of their biggest crossover hits “Crazy Bitch” and “Sorry,” their first Billboard Top 100 single. A series of albums followed starting in 2008 with “Black Butterfly,” all with varying degrees of success and although the chart prowess of the aforementioned songs alluded them they continued to release records and consistently tour remaining a strong draw on the concert circuit. BUCKCHERRY Vocalist Josh Todd On Building His New Band “I Wanna Get Away From Buckcherry”! [Audio]

Josh Todd has easily become a household name since Buckcherry’s jaw dropping performance at Woodstock ’99 which propelled them to stardom. Buckcherry has since released 7 studio albums the most recent being 2015’s simply titled ‘Rock N Roll’. Josh also released a solo album in 2003 titled ‘You Made Me’. Not only has the rocking vocalist been on the stage for years but he has also made appearances on screen as well. He was in one of my all time favorite movies The Salton Sea which starred Val Kilmer, Vincent D’Onofrio and Meatloaf. If you haven’t seen this film I highly suggest you check it out. He has also appeared on the shows Bones, The Shield and the movie The Banger Sisters. This year Josh Todd formed a new project named Josh Todd & The Conflict. The band has a heavier style than what he has done with Buckcherry and it’s a in your face rock n roll style that instantly gets your blood pumping. The band released their debut album ‘Year of the Tiger’ on September 15, 2015 by Century Media Records. The album was co-produced by guitarist Stevie D and Stone Temple Pilots drummer Eric Kretz. The album also includes a cover of the Prince song “Erotic City”. Josh Todd & The Conflict are currently on tour through the end of November, so if they are coming to a venue near you I highly suggest you get out their and witness this band live. Below you can see the video for one of the bands singles “Fucked Up”. You can also check out the videos “Rain” and the title track “Year Of The Tiger” as well. Continue reading

JOSH TODD & THE CONFLICT Feat. BUCKCHERRY Members Release ‘Year Of The Tiger’ Music Video

JOSH TODD & THE CONFLICT has recently released a killer music video titled, ‘Year Of The Tiger‘ from their upcoming debut album, “Year Of The Tiger, due out September 15 on Century Media Records, which features members from BUCKCHERRY(California). Chris Cuffaro who has also previously shared his work with PEARL JAMGEORGE MICHAEL responsible for the direction of this video.

Speaking about the first single and title track, Josh says,
The album’s title track,
‘Year Of The Tiger’, was one of the first songs we wrote for the record and also became one of my favorite songs I have ever written. Like most good songs, it came together very quickly. As soon as Stevie sent me the music, the lyrics and melodies poured out of me.

He further adds, I’m a huge fan of ‘Hannibal’ and the show ‘Narcos’, while also being into the big cats. In ‘Hannibal’, they had a character that would feed despicable people to his pigs and I thought that was pretty demented and interesting. Also, I am always fascinated with people that have the balls to choose a life of crime, so this track is about a guy living on the edge with a manhunt going on for his life ending in death by tigers.
