American power trio PRONG has premiered the official music video for “Forced Into Tolerance,” off of their 2017 released “Zero Days” via Steamhammer Records. The band’s chief Tommy Victor explains the rebellious nature of the new music video, as follows,

Australian progressive metal masters are riding high on their recent success of the all new album ‘Urn‘ which was released last October. Well, NE OBLIVISCARIS has welcomed a new recruit to the fold, Martino Garattoni, who will fill in as the new bassist, after the band slammed the door on their former bassist Brendan “Cygnus” Brown, over allegations of domestic violence, last year.
New York’s LIFE OF AGONY has announced dates for a headlining trek called “Rise of the Underground Tour 2018” spanning the USA and Europe. The shows will begin with two sold-out, hometown warm-up gigs April 18th& 19th at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, and conclude November 2nd as headliners of The Sound of Revolution Festival in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Hey there! Welcome to this week’s edition of State Of The Art, where we help rupture your virginity about the unknown and the underground. We visit Georgia this month, yes! Home of Grammy winners MASTODON, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS, R.E.M. etc. It’s evident that Georgia houses some incredibly talented musicians spanning all genres of music. I normally feature thrash, death bands when my turn on this segment comes. But today, just to break this monotony I chose to feature symphonic folk metal band CROWN OF SORROW from Fayetteville. Among the very few symphonic bands like those of DEVILWRAITH, KYLE MORRISON, AMIDST THE WITHERING, ETHIRIA etc. in the state of Georgia, today’s featured band CROWN OF SORROW is really working it’s way up the ranks of Georgia’s metal scene. It is really good and satisfying to see a band bring back the lost glory of good old classical and folk metal, in an age where thrash and death metal have been enjoying the throne for a bit long.
CROWN OF SORROW is a symphonic folk metal band that has a tinge of doom metal and surplus western classical elements in it, making it feel like a fine old wine. They are a fairly young outfit having released their first demo just in 2013, which featured three songs. With the demo working out for them, they released their debut full length record in 2015 titled, ‘Exile‘. Before all of this, the band was earlier named The Blasted Heath. What we know today as CROWN OF SORROW is a reincarnation that sought life when the former burned out in 2012 after hanging in on there since 2006. Let’s take a look at CROWN OF SORROW, shall we? Macedonia? Anyone? Betcha didn’t know any bands from the land of the great Alexander from Macedon! Alright let me do the honours of shedding some light on you in introducing one of the most creative and intriguing bands from Europe. Headbangers! introducing the ever so vibrant, and one of my all time favourites, ethno progressive(yeah, this too!) band CHROMATIC POINT, from the Balkan land of Macedonia(FYROM). “Chromatic” as they sound both musically and visually, the band incorporates every sense of the word and just goes on to show the frantic and seemingly chaotic nature of it’s sonic virtuosity. Just like the rapidly changing “flight of the bumblebee”. See what I did there? Yup, that was your daily dose of classical music puns!
All right let’s stop beating around the bush and get to the point. So, this Balkan progressive powerhouse has just unleashed their brand new music video, “Clockwork” today, which the band says has been taken off their “next studio material“. Let’s get dissecting the new chops!
ALICE IN CHAINS have announced dates for the second leg of their North American headline tour, which kicks off August 22 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC. The new dates are part of a worldwide trek that will see ALICE IN CHAINS performing across North America and Europe. Dates are listed below and ticket info can be found HERE.
ALICE IN CHAINS (vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell, drummer Sean Kinney, bassist Mike Inez and vocalist/guitarist William DuVall) are currently putting the finishing touches on the much-anticipated follow-up to 2013’s critically-acclaimed album, ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here‘. That album entered Billboard’s Top 200 chart at No. 2 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums Chart, Top Rock Albums Chart, Hard Rock Albums Chart and iTunes Rock Album Chart and its first two singles, “Stone” and “Hollow,” both hit No. 1 on the rock charts.

Atlanta, GA’s metal quartet CLOAK have announced new dates surrounding their tour supporting MAYHEM. CLOAK will kick off their tour on March 25 at Kentucky’s Blood of the Wolf Festival, and will perform across Baltimore, Columbus, and Waterford, NY before joining MAYHEM. The crusty Indiana doom metallers are all set to begin a voyage on the western side of America next month, alongside, ravaging eight cities this April 16-26 before ultimately concluding at Chicago Doomed & Stoned Festival this June.
“This is our longest run to date,” says longtime guitarist and vocalist Tucker Thomasson. Adding to a few details on the tour here’s what Tucker has to say,”We’re playing with a few awesome bands we’ve worked with before (Green Druid, Wizzerd, Green Altar) and we’re also looking forward to meeting and playing with some new bands as well. Idaho deathcore act EXTORTIONIST have announced that they will be embarking on a brief North American tour this spring with BY THE THOUSANDS. The tour is slated to kick off April 22nd in Peoria, IL at The Rail II, and will conclude on April 27th in Salt Lake City, UT at The Loading Dock.
In addition to releasing their debut full-length ‘The Decline‘ last year, the band have recently unveiled a brand new single, “Absent Ones” (check it out, HERE).
