2019 is already looking to be a big year for metal with several album releases from many of our favorite bands/artists. Some releases are drawing more anticipation than others, but with the recent news from Metallica, it’s a safe bet they’ve secured a spot near the top of the list. Earlier this month, the heavy metal giants performed a hit-filled acoustic set at the inaugural Helping Hands benefit concert in San Francisco, CA and have announced the double-album release of the performance due out February 1st. A product of Los Angeles, California All Hail The Yeti formed in 2006. The band has released two full length albums, their self titled debut in 2012 followed by ‘Screams from a Black Wilderness’ in 2016 which was produced by Matt Hyde (Slipknot, Machine Head). The band creates a southern-sludgy stoner rock that electrifies listeners. The band is influences by iconic NOLA legends like Acid Bath and Eye Hate God and also a touch of the sunset strip with Motley Crue. All Hail The Yeti is now preparing to release their third studio album ‘Highway Croses’. The album was recorded, mixed and produced by three-time Grammy winning producer Warren Riker who is well recognized for his work with metal artists such as Down, Cathedral, Korn and Crowbar, as well as mainstream names such as The Fugees, Mary j. My Memory Remains

My Memory Remains formed in June of 2015. The band consists of Nicole Steinmetz on vocals, Aaron Aull and Justin Perry on guitar, Kyle Miller pn drums and CJ Schmidt on bass.
They are based in Eau Claire, WI and have appeared on the same bill as killer bands such as The Devil Wears Prada, All That Remains and Otep.
From their biography, the band “write music in a way that everyone can relate to and can feel a connection with.” They are a hard rock band with Metal leanings and a singer with an incredible voice and range.
With the rise of smart cars, smart phones, and smart speakers we are quickly descending down into a world George Orwell feared when he was writing his dystopian classic, 1984. This inspired metalcore band Pathetic Fallacy for their music video “2018”. Formed in New Jersey late 2017, Pathetic Fallacy released their first EP The New Years Tapes December 30 2017. After picking up steam on Spotify, they played their first show at Debonair Music Hall May 2 2018. Since then they have played venues such as Dingbatz, Boontunes, Publik House, among others. Their upcoming EP titled, Regicide, is due out December 8. Continue reading
Sundecay is a progressive doom band based in Toronto, Canada. While rooted in the classic sounds of proto-doomsters like Pentagram, St. Vitus and of course Black Sabbath there are hints of proto-metal influencers like Dust and High Tide. The band is preparing to self-release their 4 track EP ‘Gale’ on November 30th. The Canadian quartet is made up of Mark Chandler and Brian Scott on guitar. Brian also is the artist behind the cover art for ‘Gale’. Derek Hoffman on bass, engineer and mixer, Julian Vardy on drums and Rich Pauptit on providing the vocals. The band has a DIY approach that keeps everything in house and thus keeps their vision for ‘Gale’ streamlined, and I believe that has a great deal to do with the success of this EP. Sundecay’s heaviest moments often shift away from genre conventions, much like Pallbearer, Monolord, and many “post-metal” offerings in recent years. Though the band is in the realm of proto-doom and doom they aren’t really bound by any genre and often straddle the lines on various other genres. Continue reading
Toyah Cordingley was a beautiful, highly popular 24-year-old Australian who loved music and animals. Ms. Cordingley’s body was discovered in the dunes at Wangetti Beach, north of Cairns, Australia on October 22, a day after she was reported missing. Toyah was taken from the world way too early. A young lady just walking her dog on a beach was murdered, in a crime that has shaken the whole country. Despite a many leads collected by police, the killer is still at large. Without knowing last year on May 20th after 10 years we bid farewell to Rock On The Range. Founder and co-producer Danny Wimmer Presents parted ways with AEG and ending the partnership which also closed the doors on Rock On The Range, Carolina Rebellion, and Northern Invasion. DWP has founded a new festival which will also be held at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio on May 17th-19th. The new festival; Sonic Temple has promised to bring everything Rock On The Range had and build on it as well. The anticipation has already been building as fans have been predicting what bands might be performing on the inaugural Sonic Temple festival. Today we take a huge step forward as they have released the full lineup of bands today.
