Isolated Antagonist Takes Us Into “Oblivion”

Isolated Antagonist is:

Glen Mitchell – Aggressive vocals, lyricist, music

Nate Exx Gradowski – all instrumentation/music, clean vocals

Christian Olde Wolbers – (formerly of Fear Factory) bass

Isolated Antagonist (an inversion of the Artificial Intelligence acronym) has been in our stables for a couple of years now, supplying us with a steady supply of purist level Industrial Metal with roots solidly grounded in the original trail blazers of the genre like Fear Factory, Godflesh and Die Krupps with additional influences coming via Progressive Metal greats like Sepultura, Mnemic, Gary Numan, The Frontline Assembly, Brujeria, Queensryche (Geoff Tate era), Napalm Death, Strapping Young Lad and Devin Townsend. Started by Army Warrant Officer (CW3) Glen Mitchell (aggressive vocals, lyricist and music) and Nate Exx Gradowski (all instruments/music and clean vocals) as a musical outlet for vivid Sci-Fi Metal in 2014, they wasted no time releasing their first EP entitled Engineered Audio Hallucinations the same year. By 2016, Isolated Antagonist released their second full-length album called Affirmation of Entropy on the BluntFace record label. Originally set to be released around Halloween of last year as the ongoing Sci-Fi saga of humanity’s slide into a pseudo-Hell, Oblivion now has a set release date of November 20, 2017, with all pre-sales profits being donated to the DanaFarber Cancer Institute (Pre-Sales website) in the name of fallen soldier and friend, Melanie Crim, who Chief Mitchell served with. This alone is worth the price of entry. F*ck Cancer!

Review: VOIDS – ‘No Character : No Crown’ [Official Videos]

Voids hasn’t been in the game for a long time yet their sound suggests otherwise, beginning with the 2015 EP ‘As Above, So Below’ they already proved that they understand the deep roots of metalcore and with the 2017 release of ‘No Character : No Crown’ they have shown us that they only have improved ever since. Their new album offers a huge quality difference as well as a mature sounding character. With that being said, let’s get right into the review!

APPICE BROTHERS Release “Monsters and Heroes” Video With Cameo From Carrot Top!

You’re unlikely to find a phenomenon like Carmine and Vinny Appice a second time in the history of rock music. For more than forty years, the two brothers have been among the most sought-after and renowned rock drummers worldwide. Carmine and Vinny (each of them on their own) can be heard on numerous legendary albums and have toured countless times with some of the world’s greatest acts. Carmine embarked on his musical path in the 1960s with the unforgotten Vanilla Fudge, manning in the course of his illustrious career the drums for superstars such as Marty Friedman, Ted NugentRod Stewart and Ozzy Osbourne, among others. His brother Vinny, who is eleven years his junior, looks back on an equally spectacular career, having worked with acts such as Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell and Dio, among others. With the exception of the live album ‘Drum Wars – Live!’ (2014), there has been no direct collaboration between the two so far. That’s about to change! ‘Sinister’ is the first joint studio album by Carmine and Vinny and was recorded with the support of a number of prestigious guests. Continue reading

On October 27th Linkin Park was joined by numerous friends to honor their fallen singer Chester Bennington. The band hasn’t made very many appearances since the tragic loss of their friend and bandmate in July. We have seen numerous musicians dedicate songs to Chester while on tour recently, but this night was different. The entire night was a way for Linkin Park, fans and friends to celebrate Chester’s life. While we still don’t know if Linkin Park will continue this gives us a chance to see the band on stage with a variety of guests. The band was joined by numerous musicians on stage in an effort to raise awareness for the One More Light Fund which you can donate or find more info about here. Continue reading

Interview: Puppet Master of Priest says “We’re all very influenced by New Romantics”

While the Scandinavian music scene is one frequently revered and heavily romanticized, – particularly amongst heavy-metal listeners; – one particular group you might not have heard of is the blossoming figurehead of macabre synth-pop, PRIEST. The group, since their incarnation, have consistently sought to experiment with a diverse array of visual and musical stylings. Their upcoming debut album ‘New Flesh’ is scheduled for release on November 17 2017 via Lovely Records. The album was produced by Alpha (ex-GHOST) Continue reading

TRIVIUM Release “Thrown Into The Fire” Official Video!

If you aren’t already in the know, TRIVIUM recently released their new album “The Sin And The Sentence” with Roadrunner Records on October 20, 2017. Well, it doesn’t seem like they are wasting any time because they have also released an official video for the track ‘Thrown Into The Fire’ and holy shit is this a heavy one! The song features the newest addition to the TRIVIUM family, Drummer Alex Bent and it is their first new music since 2015s Silence In The Snow.  ‘Thrown Into The Fire’ is full of raw emotion and power, I would definitely say that is some of Matt Heafys best work vocally on both the harsh and clean spectrum, and his transitions into both styles are flawlessly executed, and perfectly timed. TRIVIUM fans the world over should rejoice because they are back, and heavy as they’ve ever been! POWERMAN 5000 Release Video In Honor Of Music Legend “David F**cking Bowie”

‘New Wave’ is Powerman 5000’s eleventh official release since forming in 1992. The new album marks the next chapter in the world of PM5K and is the follow-up to 2014’s highly successful ‘Builders of the Future’. On the direction of ‘New Wave’, vocalist Spider One says, “We went a bit dirtier on this one. Ripped it up more than the last couple of records. One of the goals was to recreate the noise of the live show. Keep in the chaos.” Continue reading
