Sylar have been dominating the music scene lately, not only with new tracks but also with their killer performances on stage. The band formed in 2011 and quickly started pumping out material. They released the EP ‘Cutting Ties’ in the same year as their formation, and followed it up with another EP in 2013 titled ‘Deadbeat’ produced by Caleb Shomo (of Attack Attack!). Sylar then released their debut album ‘To Whom It May Concern’ a year later via Razor & Tie. This is the album that truly got the bands feet firmly planted in the music world. With powerful and emotional tracks like “Prescription Meditation” the band put a little bit of themselves in each track. The New Yorkers went on to sign with Hopeless Records and one up themselves releasing ‘Help’ in August of 2016. This would give them one of their biggest hits thus far in “Assume”. The album charted as high as 8th in Heatseekers Albums in September of 2016 on Billboard. The band already had 4 releases under their belt and on October 5, 2018 the band released another full length studio album marking their 5 release titled ‘Seasons’. The album is their second release on Hopeless Records. The single “All or Nothing” was the first release from ‘Seasons’ and it helps get fans pumped for the release. ‘Seasons’ was produced by Erik Ron who has worked with bands like Motionless In White, Blessthefall, I See Stars, Attila, and Godsmack.
Comments Off on STATIC-X Have Returned With New Album And World Tour
Static-X are reuniting with the original lineup to commemorate the 20 year anniversary of their successful debut album Wisconsin Death Trip. Bassist Tony Campos, guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay have teamed up again to release Project Regeneration, set to hit shelves and streaming services Spring 2019. The band has also planned a world tour to support the album and to honor their late frontman, Wayne Static, who passed away November 1, 2014. More information on the tour dates will be coming soon.
The band has compiled posthumous vocal performances and musical compositions that Static left behind. With help from long-time producer of Static X, Ulrich Wild, their seventh studio album will feature 12-15 brand new Static-X tracks.
Bassist Tony Campos explains, “With the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip quickly approaching, it feels like the right time to pay our respects to the band, to Wayne, and to all the fans who have been with us right from the start.” says bassist Tony Campos. “We had a lot of material to work with… several demos that Wayne left behind, as well as some really great isolated vocal performances from some nearly finished songs. Together, we have been writing and crafting something very special!”
You can check out teaser clips from a new music video, featuring brand new Static-X tracks, “Road To Hell”, “Something Of My Own”, “Terminator Oscillator”, “Hollow” and “Disco Otsego” – along with a personal message from bassist Tony Campos about the inspiration behind Project Regeneration now here. For the unfinished tracks, guest vocals will be laid down by friends of Static-X. This process is being brought together by Sirius XM pioneer Jose Mangin, who is also credited as an executive producer of the project.
Campos says, “We have confirmed interest from our friends David Draiman, Ivan Moody, Al Jorgensen, Dez Fafara, Edsel Dope, Burton C Bell, and a few others,” says Campos. “Unfortunately, due to everyone’s crazy schedules, it is a little early to know how things will shake out. We are more than confident that the album will have some incredible guest vocalists, but it should be noted that it is still too early to count anyone in 100%.”
“This is a celebration of STATIC-X, Wisconsin Death Trip, Wayne Static, and all of our fans,” adds Campos. “We are very excited about what we have created, so we wanted to involve the fans early, and in a campaign sort of way, so that they can participate with us and help to dictate some of the things that we do.”

From Queens, New York, Sylar brings a head-bobbing groove to this year’s Rock Allegiance festival. Their current sound reflects a fusion of rap-rock with heavy modern riffs harkens back to the early 2000’s influences that nu-metal brought to the table. Sylar came to fruition by the hands of singer Jayson Panesso and drummer Thomas Veroutis. Currently signed to Hopeless Records, they are set to release their third full length, “Seasons,” on October 5th.
Their first EP, “Deadbeat” will likely appeal more to a more hardcore audience and two full lengths in between bridge the gap to where the band currently is. Early material was produced by Beartooth frontman, Caleb Shomo, whom Sylar will tour with this fall, one of the stops being Rock Allegiance in Camden, New Jersey. Sylar do an excellent job in paying homage to a major influence, Linkin Park in 2017 when they released a single of their cover of “Points of Authority.” Heavy, aggressive and sometimes unforgiving, Sylar find the perfect balance between chaos and composure. Panesso’s vocals carry a tune that glazes the beatdown riffs with something sweet.
October 6th, in Camden, NJ, Sylar will be a part of the fourth annual Rock Allegiance festival. Tickets are still for sale and can be purchased here, with some fabulous VIP options as well.
Comments Off on Jason “J-Sin” Luttrell Vocalist Of PRIMER 55 Has Passed Away!
Jason “J-Sin” Luttrell was the vocalist of Primer 55, the celebrated nu metal based in Louisville, Kentucky. Jason or “J-Sin” was the vocalist of the band from 1997–2003 and then came back for a short period of time in 2007. However, after only three weeks of touring J-Sin was forced to exit the band due to poor performances and costly antics caused by continued drug and alcohol addictions that would eventually land him in rehab. As of August 10th, Jason was in the ICU at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southhaven, Mississippi. At around 10:00 AM Central time a relative of the singer stated “As most of you know Jason has been sick for a long time. He is currently in the ICU at Baptist Desoto and is not expected to make it through the day. They are making him as comfortable as possible at the moment.” As of 8:31 PM Central time J-Sin has passed away, our deepest condolences are with his family, friends and band mates past and present. His high-energy, aggressive lyrical delivery contains a similarly incendiary riot fuel of a young ZackdelaRocha while musically the sound combines elements of gangsta rap, nu-metal, and punk. Louisville, Kentucky’s nu-metal heroesFlaw have been dominating stages since before the release of their debut ‘Through The Eyes’ in 2001. The band is now revived and better than ever. Their comeback release ‘Divided We Fall’ proves the band hasn’t lost their touch. Chris Volz and the band have led the charge of a nu-metal resurgence over the past two years. Flaw have toured relentlessly playing both as a supporting act and as a headliner and even made numerous festival appearances including back to back performances at Louder Than Life in their hometown and also Ink In The Clink. Still on the heels of their full length release the band has now finished up a companion EP to ‘Divided We Fall’ and it’s titled ‘United We Stand’. The 6 track EP includes 4 brand new tracks and two live tracks. Both live songs are from the ‘Through The Eyes’ album and include “Payback” and “Only The Strong”.
