Hey, all you tech and prog nerds! Look here, German progressive tech death band OBSCURA are back with a brand new single, “Diluvium” from their eponymous upcoming studio album. I’ve been hooked onto OBSCURA ever since I fell in love with their masterpiece of an album, ‘Cosmogenesis‘, well every album they do is fucking masterpiece. None the less, the German quartet today release their title track from ‘Diluvium‘, which is due out on 13th of July, via Relapse Records. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday gift!

Pre-order for the upcoming record opens today along with the release of the single. A bit over a year ago, OBSCURA put out ‘Akroasis‘, an absolute chart buster and a monumental landmark in their catalog. It’s not been much long and we already have a new song and an album lined up the sleeve.

Death metal overlords DYING FETUS announce the European Annihilation Summer headlining tour. The tour begins August 2 at Wacken Open Air in Germany and ends August 25 at Death Feast in Andernach, DE. Direct support will be provided by CARNIFEX, TOXIC HOLOCAUST, GOATWHORE and VENOM PRISON on select dates. The tour includes additional festival appearances at Brutal Assault, Rockstadt Extreme, Party San and more! All confirmed tour dates are listed below.

Additionally, DYING FETUS will also perform at Las Vegas Deathfest and at 3 Floyds Brewing’s Dark Lord Day in May. Las Vegas Deathfest features additional Relapse artists INCANTATION, CEPHALIC CARNAGE and DEVOURMENT. Dark Lord Day in Munster, IN features support from label mates PIG DESTROYER and BRAIN TENTACLES plus REVOCATION, ALL HELL and CANYON OF THE SKULL.

French death-grinders BENIGHTED are embarking on a string of European festival dates, in support of ‘Necrobreed‘ this week that see the band performing throughout  the summer at Hellfest, Obscene Extreme, Sylak Open Air, Party San, and more. Fresh off the hills of their 2017 hit album ‘Necrobreed‘, the band will continue to spread the plague and sickness in Europe. A full list of confirmed dates can be found below.

Skinless are back again with another brutal release from Relapse Records titled, ‘Savagery’. Starting in the early 1990’s, these guys decimated the underground scene with intense live performances. Noting Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, and Deicide as influences, they gained a large following to support their 1998 release ‘Progression Towards Evil’. Signing a deal with Relapse Records, the band released four more albums: ‘Foreshadowing Our Demise’, ‘From Sacrifice To Survival’, and ‘Trample The Weak’, ‘Hurdle The Dead’. Gaining a loyal fan base worldwide, they have shared the stage with likes of Slayer, Dying Fetus, and Hatebreed. After lineup changes and an eventual hiatus, Skinless reformed to lay waste to the world once again with ‘Only The Ruthless Remain’. With that terribly appropriate title, Skinless proved to us that they could stand the test of time, the most brutal force of all. With ‘Savagery’, they show their pure strength once again. ROTTING CHRIST amidst their European tour got arrested unfortunately in the Eastern European country of Georgia, in their capital city Tbilisi on the 12th of April, this month, right before their concert on the 13th. The band was arrested on ridiculous and spurious grounds involving charges of terrorism allegedly based on the band’s name! Front man Sakis Tolis informed later as stated below that they were “branded as Satanists and therefore suspects of terrorism.” A reason every metalhead is accused of once in their lifetime!

Hey y’all! Get ready with that bullet belt around your waist, some tattered jeans and a beer mug(not sure if going to war with a beer belly is a good idea though) in your hand, cause today we go to war. Yes, today I bring to you an exclusive video premiere of the Indian underground band, WARMARSHAL‘s all new track “This Is War“. Hailing from down south, Hyderabad, the band is a trio and doesn’t shy away from planting that boot on your face, firm. Without much ado, let me introduce you WARMARSHAL, for those who might be unaware of them and think ‘where next to conquer‘, *wink* in your never ending search for uncharted territories.

War and metal have always been friends that have relied on each other and have proved to be the perfect amalgamation. The intensity, atrocious and the bestial nature of both death metal and war have never failed to amaze fans. Thus, being the reason why there are still a plethora of rising bands that chose to walk along the path that was paved already by the likes of legends such as BOLT THROWER, BESTIAL WARLUST etc. WARMARSHAL is no different as well. Combining elements of war, atrocity, politics and belting it with pure old school death metal intensity, they are adamant on establishing their name in the Indian metal scene.

Typically I don’t find a language gap in music, especially metal. When I was in middle school, my Spanish teacher introduced me to Spanish metal and from then on I had a deeper appreciation for world music. Sol de Sangre which translates to “Blood of the Sun” are Colombian, but currently reside in different parts of the world. This powerful group consists of Kike Valderrama (Headcrusher) on vocals, Rolando Ramos Torres on guitar, Gonzalo Restrepo (Absolution Denial, Cromlech, Deadsoul) on drums, and Gustavo Adolfo Valderrama on bass. They have captured the old-school death metal aesthetic, while adding their own thrashy and melodic flair to the style. Since 2017, they have been releasing singles to support their upcoming self-titled album with Black Market Metal. The album was mixed by Tomas Skogsberg (Sunlight Studios) and mastered by the ever-prolific Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust, Tiger Junkies). On March 23rd, the album was released and it took off like a goddamn rocket!

SKELETAL REMAINS, the boys from California will be unleashing yet another horrendous(in a good way) record this coming week on the 13th of April, via Century Media Records and Dark Descent Records. This will be the group’s third studio album, titled ‘Devouring Mortality‘, it is going to be an out and out assault on your sonic taste buds. With just a week remaining for the official release, SKELETAL REMAINS today has put out yet another nerve wracking single, “Parasitic Horrors” from the upcoming LP, with two tracks, the title track and music video, “Seismic Abyss” already out to the masses. Mixed & mastered by Dan Swanö (OPETH, BLOODBATH) and featuring impressive art by Dan Seagrave (ENTOMBED, SUFFOCATION, DISMEMBER), SKELETAL REMAINS promises to deliver a mind numbing, ear splitting crushing opus, while maintaining diversity and remaining true old school at heart. The album was tracked at Trench Studios (ABYSMAL DAWN, EXHUMED, HIRAX, etc.) in their home state, California.

Delivering hard hitting metal from Salisbury NC, BLACKWATER DROWNING have made a name for themselves playing on some of the biggest stages in the underground scene. With their mix of technical musicianship and brutal vocals, the band has shared those same stages with many international recording acts.

With the start of the New Year, the band made their way back into the studio to begin working on their follow up to their debut release, “Deity”. The first track from the band’s newly announced “Ruthless“ EP, “Violent Ends”, shows an evolution of the band, shining more light on their drummer, Chris Peavy, along with the addition of a rhythm guitarist, Chris Jones. Lead guitarist Jeremy Bennett shows off his fretboard pyrotechnics, with vocalist Morgan Riley delivering her signature brutal vocal delivery as well as added screams from Bassist Aria Novi. The new track is really borderline death metal vocals with almost the same temperament as that of death metal. The drums are hit with significant intensity, more than that the riffing is heavy, tuned down and perfectly blends together with Morgan’s tight vocal delivery.
