About Thomas Biggs

Call me Tom, but I’ll answer to most anything! I’m an award winning nature photographer trying his hand at concert photography. I’ve been shooting professionally for the last 15 plus years. Always been a lover of music, the last 6 years in the pit has taken that love to another level! Hope you enjoy my images and writing as much as I do creating them!

STRYPER Rocks The Congregation In Louisville, Kentucky [Review & Photo Gallery]

Stryper

I don’t need much of a reason to go see Stryper. They are one of my favorite bands of all time, but when I read that the “History Tour” is featuring nothing but greatest hits and covers I’m all over it. Now mind you the last three albums ‘No More Hell To Pay,’ ‘Fallen’ and ‘God Damn Evil’ are phenomenal albums and hold up to and sometimes surpass anything they’ve ever done, but when it boils right down to it I am a child of the 80’s. So when you’re talking Stryper greatest hits ‘Soldiers Under Command,’ ‘To Hell With The Devil’ and ‘In God We Trust’ is where I go. Those three albums are where a lot of tonight’s set list came from, but I getting ahead of myself. Continue reading

Slayer, Lamb Of God, Amon Amarth & Cannibal Corpse Ignite West Virginia [Review & Photo Gallery]

Slayer

“Once more into to breach, dear friends, once more”. One more time into the Slayer farewell tour, I’ve been lucky enough to cover this tour more than once for Metal Nexus and for that I am thankful! This time I’m in Huntington, West Virginia at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena where they know how to host a rock show!
For this leg of the farewell tour Slayer has Lamb of God (who’s been with them throughout) along with Amon Amarth and Cannibal Corpse opening the show. These four bands will get any metal head’s black heart pounding, head swinging and horns in the air! Somewhere on the ticket for this show should be a whiplash disclaimer, I’m guessing a lot of necks hurt after this onslaught of sonic violence. Continue reading

ACE FREHLEY Storms The Stage In Whitesburg, Kentucky [Review & Photo Gallery]

Ace Frehley

As I sat down to write this review I got to thinking, what could I say about Ace Frehley that hasn’t already been said over a 40 plus year career? What can be said about a performer that in his career has had hundreds of millions in record sales, toured the world multiple times, and been part of arguably the biggest band in the world (KISS), not only a part but a founding member? What can you say about a guitar legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer? I’m just not sure how to go about answering all those questions, but tonight he came to Riverside Park in the small Appalachian town of Whitesburg nestled deep in the mountains of Southeast Kentucky to play for his Kentucky rock soldiers! Continue reading

BUCKCHERRY, JOYOUS WOLF, And KISS KISS BANG Rock Kentucky [Review & Photo Gallery]

The month of March in the Bluegrass state (Lexington in particular) is generally all about basketball, but not on this night. Tonight was about rock n’ roll. Dirty, sleazy rock n’ roll. Buckcherry rock n’ roll and they did not disappoint! Along for the ride, and ready and willing to get dirty, was Joyous Wolf and Kentucky’s own Kiss Kiss Bang. Continue reading

HALESTORM & NEW YEARS DAY Rock Rupp Arena [Review & Photo Gallery]

Halestorm

This was stacking up to be an epic night of rock n roll in Lexington, KY. Three of the best female fronted bands touring the country were scheduled to be making a stop at Rupp Arena. Well, that was the plan until word came down that the bus carrying most of In This Moment had broken down. So the night that started with three bands was now down to two, but New Years Day and Halestorm more than made up for it! Continue reading

My Last Time Seeing Oli Herbert Perform With ALL THAT REMAINS [Photo Gallery]

All That Remains

I was writing the review for this show when I heard the news of All That Remains guitarist Oli Herbert’s passing. I had a full review almost completed but after the recent tragic news it was like my whole memory of the night was washed away and all I could recall was Oli shredding away under the lights on stage.  Continue reading
