Review: LIFE OF AGONY – ‘A Place Where There’s No More Pain’ [Official Videos]

Life Of Agony has been around for over 20 years but they still surprise to this date . They managed to keep their routs intact while changing things up big time, They are from New York and best known for their debut album ‘River Runs Red’ from 1993. This and their album ‘Ugly’ (1995) built their staircase into the hardcore scene. They toured all over the place with many great and influential bands like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. And I have to tell you, you don’t get that spot for sitting around a table playing poker. After this incredible start they released another album in 1997 ‘Soul Searching Sun’, 2 years later the band decided to split up and all walk their own directions. After this devastating news the band managed to surprise everyone by coming back together in 2003. They finally found their love for the band again and decided to make an album, ‘Broken Valley’. This album got them right on track and showcased their intense love for the band.  After long waiting we finally got it, a new album from Life Of Agony. It’s called ‘A Place Where There’s No More Pain’ and wow what a great album it is people. They produced it themselves with a helping hand of Mat Brown. The bands label is one of the best around Napalm Records and Ted Jensen mastered it. He is well known for his work for Alice In Chains, Machine Head and Deftones so we are in for a good one.

Review: THREE LANE ROAD – S/T [Single Streaming]

Three Lane Road don’t care if you call them a classic rock, an 80’s band or hair metal. They aren’t worried about labels at all. The Texas based rockers are happy with their sound and want to spread it to the masses. The band formed in 2015 and have been chugging along ever since. Melodic vocal lines sang by Wayne Brito coupled together with tastefully driven guitar leads with both Allan Davis and Wayne Brito bring to life a nostalgic rock feel. It certainly drives home the old school feel of rock and the goose bumps are included at no additional charge. The bottom end rhythm section of bassist Steve Musket and drummer Chuck Geisel sear together the sound that is Three Lane Road collectively. The band draws inspiration from bands like Journey, Dokken and Skid Row. Like their influences the band doesn’t only create amazing music, but they capture your soul with their lyrics. Three Lane Road have released their self-titled debut. Recorded at Empire Sound Recording Studio in Carrollton, Texas and was produced by Alex Gerst. It was mastered by Derek Taylor at Milo Studio. Review: IBYSS – ‘Hate Speech’ (Album Stream)

IBYSS is two guys. Two guitars, riffs for days, melodic and harsh vocal tones, programmed drums that are on point, and distorted bass. The band was founded at the beginning of 2012 by guitarist Jens (Chord Of Souls) and guitarist Nihil (PaPerCuts). This duo is taking Industrial-Metal back to its underground roots, the German duo celebrates an assault on the progressive-sound-complex of today´s metal world. Rudimental and raw. The band includes echoes and reverb in their sound to make the listener feel as if they were stuck in a cold dark cave, instead of listening to the usual music in the cozy surroundings. IBYSS wants you to feel uncomfortable, they want their music to move you and it’s something that few bands put effort into. The bands first release ‘Obsidian’ was self produced and released in 2014. Since that album the band has released 2 remixed tracks and the single “Monolith” that included the original track and 2 remixed versions in 2015. IBYSS has now released their latest work of art on January 31, 2017. The release was again self recorded and produced by the band and mixed and mastered by Ben Blutzukker. The album’s title has caused sort of an uproar in the bands home country of Germany. The EP titled ‘Hate Speech’ has been refused coverage from most German webzines and even leading print magazines. Refusing to publish any news about the release or even review it because they think our title is too “problematic” or “provocative”. I can easily go back into the metal vaults and find 1000’s of iconic albums that have far more offensive titles. Honestly, the fact that these outlets aren’t covering this album gives it that taboo effect and makes fans want to check it out even more. The title of this EP isn’t the main point here, this band absolutely dominates in their own style, bare witness to all that is IBYSS Continue reading

SOCIETY 1 Release “It’s Yours Now” Music Video (Featuring Sin Quirin of MINISTRY)

Southern California Industrial Metal band SOCIETY 1 have released a brand new music video for the song “It’s Yours Now” which features Ministry guitarist Sin Quirin. The song is from the bands upcoming album ‘Rise From The Dead’ scheduled for release this March on DSN Music. The video was directed by vocalist Lord Zane. SOCIETY 1 was founded in 1996 by the infamous Lord Zane on lead vocals, also features veteran guitarist Maxxxwell Carlisle, bassist Dirt Von Karloff, and drummer Iorden Mitev. “It feels good to be back at it again, like an old lover who fucked you better than anyone before or after” said Zane during a decadent signing party at the DSN Music complex in Malibu, CA. “Everyone has those moments when you resurrect and reinvent. This album Rise From The Dead is one of those moments.” The comeback for Zane follows a hiatus during which he established a successful Hollywood career as a music video director, working on projects with such acts as Zakk Wylde, John 5, Wayne Static, and Orgy“For me this isn’t so much of a return for the band but more a return of my understanding of how necessary musical exploration is to my existence,” said Zane. The band is well known for their stage presence, especially Zane who sometimes inflicts pain on himself for the shock and amusement of fans. At Download Festival in 2005, Zane broke several records by performing the bands entire set suspended from 4 meat hooks through his back. While SOCIETY 1 us referenced as an industrial metal band this new track “It’s Yours Now” has much more of a groove filled grunge or 90’s rock sound. At times the song sounds hauntingly similar to the late Layne Staley fronted Alice In Chains. Though nothing can truly compare to seeing SOCIETY 1 in a live setting, this new video is a greatly directed piece of cinematography that showcases the band and a little bit of skin as an added bonus. Review: KEMEROV – ‘FMKD’ [Album Steam]

Two guys that grew up with old school 90’s death metal joined forces and formed the band Kemerov in 2013. The quartet hail from Serres, Greece. They could never really choose between the metal sound and the rock n’roll feeling, and their sound meshes the two together perfectly. Giving in to these schizophrenic tendencies, they are inspired by bands like Entombed, Cathedral and Turbonegro and various others. Kemerov decided to throw all their influences into the mix, which created this new hybrid sound you won’t find anywhere else. In 2013 they got the ball rolling with guitar, voice and occasionally bass and drums. By the summer of 2015, the band had acquired permanent members for both drums and bass. This would become the first ever full Kemerov lineup. The lineup was now stable and in November 2015 they released their debut self-titled EP, and they’ve began to hit the stage in support of acts like Rotting Christ, Septicflesh and Jucifer, among others. During this time the band was also working on new material for their debut full-length release. The full length titled ‘FMKD’ was released on January 31, 2017. The album was produced by Kemerov & Emmanouil Hermano Tselepis. The band recorded at various studios including Flow Recordings Studio, Galdemi Studio and Steve’s studio and then it was all mixed and mastered by Emmanouil Hermano Tselepis.   Continue reading

THEM EVILS Release Music Video For “Untold”

themevils

Orange County, California rockers Them Evils have released their official video for the song “Untold” which appears on their EP Them Evils released earlier this year. We were first acquainted with the band in October when saw them dominate the stage twice in one weekend. They were the sole act for the Louder Than Life Pre-Party in Louisville, Kentucky, and also the opening act on Sunday for the festival. Some of the footage included in the video is from their time spent at the festival both on and off the stage. Inspired by equal parts of rock giants like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Queens Of The Stone Age, among others, guitarist/vocalist Jordan Griffin, bassist Jake Massanari and drummer David Delaney pay tribute to their roots with every crushing note. Though you can hear their influences in their music they still have a truly unique sound. Them Evils is high energy rock n roll from the US of A. The video version of “Untold” is a remix done by Kato Khandwala (Blondie, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, The Pretty Reckless). The video was done by Ryan Ewing.  Continue reading
