Southern rock stars SCATTERED HAMLET who self describe their metal as “honky tonky metal” and are touring machines are back on the road for another “honky tonky” tour. “Swamp Rebel Machine” was their latest effort and got released last year and they’re out yet again to give y’all some taste of their fine blended, tasty southern rock. The album was well received by Billboard Heatseeker Chart and critics. With videos from songs like ‘Swamp Rebel Machine‘ and ‘White Trash‘, they further solidify the fact that they’re the best at what they do always! The summer tour will feature a festival appearance at Wisconsin’s Rock Fest XVII. SCATTERED HAMLET will appear at Rockfest July 14, 2017 along with CLUTCH, TOM KEIFER, TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION and AVENGED SEVENFOLD.

Hardcore punk or sludge metal legends THE MELVINS are adding one more feather to their long list of humongous catalogue. They are releasing a double album ‘A Walk With Love & Death‘ on July 7 via Ipecac Recordings, and with that going on THE MELVINS are streaming a new song, ‘What’s Wrong With You‘ off the same album. 

The song features vocals from Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!), who is part of the band’s current recording and touring line-up, as well as That Dog‘s Anna Waronker. 

“We love Steven! ‘What’s Wrong with You’ is a great addition to our long Melvins catalog,” proclaims Buzz Osborne. “There’s no other song on this record that sounds like it and that’s what makes it so cool!”, he further adds.

New York, NY, hard rock band, YEAR OF THE LOCUST has good news for fans. They have unveiled tour dates along with fellow rockers, DEVOUR THE DAY and groove metal group, SONS OF TEXAS. Brisbane death metallers/deathcore stalwarts AVERSIONS CROWN have announced a massive month long European headlining tour this coming summer starting from the 27th day of July in Tolmin, Slovenia at one of the biggest European metal festivals, MetalDays. AVERSIONS CROWN formed back in 2010 has released three albums till date with their debut surfacing on 2011 entitled, ‘Servitude‘ which was an independent release. Their latest offering came earlier this year in the form of ‘Xenocide‘ after their second installment, ‘Tyrant‘ under the label Nuclear Blast Records. Robing in new vocalist Mark Poida, the band has remained undeterred in the line up change and are constantly trying to up their game. Playing a blend of death metal and deathcore, they have been a huge name in the circuit off late with their alien themed lyrical approach and concept. So much so that they have been labelled as Alien metallers.

Defeated Sanity’s Facebook page had hinted at a major announcement coming, but I did not expect anything as huge as this! Without a doubt, this has to be one of, if not THE, sickest North American tour happening this summer. And its official, folks – Gorguts will be trekking across the states with both Defeated Sanity and Exist! Perhaps Metal Nexus will be covering one of these shows??

Making their return to the Western hemisphere, Gorguts are fresh off the roads of Australia and New Zealand, having toured down under with Marduk throughout this month of March. Now before the tech death legends embark on this tour of the states, they will be heading out next month for some Canadian dates with Dysrhythmia, the prog metallers who share members with the reincarnated Gorguts. Ultimately, Luc Lemay and the gang will be headlining Covenant Montreal which takes place April 13th-15th – this festival is sister to Covenant Festival in Vancouver, both of which are weekend gatherings to celebrate the music of Death with performances by multiple extreme metal bands, comprising lineups that can be found here. After this tour of their homeland, Gorguts is state-bound, kicking things off in Syracuse at Lost Horizon on June 3rd.
