Deathcore giants A Night In Texas are finally back and about to destroy every little bit of humanity that is left with their second album ‘Global Slaughter’ which is self released on the 11th of December. Luckily for us the entire record is on their official youtube page for our enjoyment so get right in!
‘Orenda,’ the latest release by Arizona-originated, post-metal band, WITH OUR ARMS TO THE SUN is a spacey, dreamy, melodic metal journey to tranquility. As far as metal goes, this is pretty soothing and mellow stuff. Where a band like SLAYER would make you want to get into the mosh pit and bash skulls in, this is the type of metal, by comparison, that you could read a book to, relax on the couch to after a few healthy bong rips while staring at your black light posters (do those still exist?), or maybe even do a nice yoga session to – hot yoga to keep it more “metal” of course.
Formed in 2012, the Arizona post-metal band has released three full-length studio albums and one EP. Vocalist, Josh Breckenridge originally started the band as a solo project, but then after recruiting his brother Joseph Breckenridge Jr. to play bass, and longtime friend Joseph Leary on guitar, they released their first EP, ‘Delicate Union of Minds’ in 2013.
Industrial metal band, Ministry is back with a new music video for their single, “Antifa,” off of the anticipated, upcoming studio album, ‘AmeriKKKant’ – scheduled to be released in March, 2018 on Nuclear Blast records. Initially following the death of longtime guitarist, Mike Scaccia in 2012; founding member, lead vocalist, and main songwriter, Al Jourgensen stated that their 2013 album, ‘From Beer to Eternity’ would be Ministry’s last. He has since reconsidered and the band began working on recording their fourteenth studio album earlier this year with a few new members added to the lineup – Cesar Soto on guitars, Derek Abrams on drums, and DJ Swamp on turntables. With their first release being in 1984, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY is a band who has made significance impact in not one but two sub genres of music (Hardcore Punk and Sludge). Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone at how excited the Metal community was when it was announced that C.O.C. would be reuniting with Vocalist/ Guitarist Pepper Keenan for a new album! It’s been a dozen years since Corrosion of Conformity recorded new material with Keenan at the helm. In that time, there have been rumors, whispers, and outright allegations that the legendary southern rock outfit would reunite to blow the doors off the whole damn scene again. In 2014, after nearly a straight decade traversing the globe as a guitarist with New Orleans supergroup Down, Keenan reconnected with the core Corrosion of Conformity trio of Woody Weatherman, Mike Dean, and Reed Mullin to hit the road hard. “Reed called me and mentioned maybe playing a couple shows,” Keenan recalls. “I said, ‘Let’s just go to Europe and see if it works.’ So we went to Europe and then ended up going back four times in one year… We toured for a year and then started tracking about ten or eleven months ago.” Continue reading

The song in question is “You Are The Scars” – the latest offering from Harakiri For The Sky’s highly anticipated 4th studio album ‘Arson’, out February 16th next year via AOP Records. The Austrian post-black duo’s 10+ minute epic metal-gaze masterpiece is powerfully emotive, dealing with the pain and confusion of broken relationships that can either drown us or make us stronger. This is beautifully encapsulated in Harakiri For The Sky’s signature symbiosis of breathtakingly atmospheric post-rock soundscapes and emotive black metal – the unlikely equilibrium that explores both the direst depths and fleetingly blissful extremes of the human psyche. Artistically directed, filmed and edited by Andreas J. Borsodi with calligraphy and creative consulting by Albert Hupeka, this is a one of the most touching and creative lyric videos that I have seen in recent times that is flooding with aural and visual meaning. A Killer’s Confession, the band led by former Mushroomhead vocalist Waylon Reavis is gearing up to embark on winter tour branded “A Very Killer Christmas Tour”. Joining A Killer’s Confession on the trek will be Awake At Last and You Are A Toy.
In addition to the upcoming tour, A Killer’s Confession has just released two brand new songs entitles “I Wish” and “Angels On The Outside” via their own label AKC GLOBAL. Both songs were produced and recorded by Sahaj Ticotin. The lyric video for “Angel On The Outside” can be viewed here.
A Killer’s Confession released its debut album “Unbroken”April 28th via EMP Label Group, the label founded by Megadeth bassist David Ellefson.
“Unbroken” was produced by Reavis and the song “A Killer’s Confession” features Korn guitarist Brian “Head”Welch.
A Killer’s Confession consists of Waylon Reavis (vocals),Jon Dale (drums), JP Cross (bass) and Matt Trumpy(guitar).
Reavis was co-vocalist for Mushroomhead from 2004 to 2015, and appears on the albums Savior Sorrow (2006), Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children (2010), and The Righteous & The Butterfly (2014), as well as other projects including Tenafly Viper, which also featured former Chimaira bassist Jim LaMarca.

This week on Talk Toomey: The Metal Nexus Podcast, Joshua Toomey brought Robb Rivera of Nonpoint back on for a third time. The two talked about Nonpoint‘s plans for the upcoming year and whether or not there’d be any shows or tours coming up. Robb also shares his reactions to Nonpoint’s The Poison Red album.
Josh also pulled Robb’s opinions on nu metal and we listened to his song picks and stories from the bands (Hed) pe, Stuck Mojo, Downset, Orange 9mm, Deftones, and Snot. Robb informs us he credits Snot with changing Nonpoint‘s on stage performance stating “If you don’t leave the stage sweating and bloody, you haven’t done your job.”
