The Bucketlist With RED DEVIL VORTEX

*In this series we pose the age-old question to a wide array of music lovers. As fans of music, most of us keep a mental list of active bands we want to see live that we haven’t yet seen. The Bucketlist brings to you those lists of your favorite artists and why those bands mean so much to them*

RED DEVIL VORTEX is a hard rock band from Los Angeles, CA, brought to life in 2016 by Gabriel Connor (Lead vocals / bass), Pablo Kravicz (Guitars / vocals) and Iago Marcondes (Drums / vocals).
With the intention of creating a bombastic atmosphere through the music, visuals and live performances, RED DEVIL VORTEX has its kick start with the release of the first single, “The Fallen”, in October of 2016, followed by several live performances in Los Angeles and SoCal area, sharing the stage with artists like ULI JON ROTH, DAYSHELL, SALIVA and I AM MORBID.
Known for it’s high adrenaline filled live performances, RED DEVIL VORTEX are really on the rise. But today, we get a bit personal with the band, as we’re highly grateful to the band for letting us have the opportunity to make them the next victim in our regular segment called Bucketlist. Today we throw them our own self proclaimed million dollar question. I am sure a lot of you would also reciprocate this bucketlist. There are some big names in there!

Review: PARKWAY DRIVE – ‘Reverence’ [Full Album Stream]

After the huge succes of the 2015 album ‘IRE’ Parkway Drive is back to destroy whatever is left with the dark and harsh vocals of Winston supported by the insane riffage of Jeff, Luke and Jia and the Earth crushing drums of Ben. So you better get ready to witness the end of the world!

Before we get into the new and stellar album ‘Reverence’ we need to dive into the deep and try to grasp the absolute beauty of their past records. Now if you have been a Parkway Drive or even a metalcore fan for a while you already know that they have held the throne from the beginning of time with the 2007 release of ‘Killing With A Smile’. This and several other past albums such as ‘Horizons’, ‘Deep Blue’ and ‘Atlas’ have all been of huge help to the metalcore world. For both musicians and for people who enjoy the music as much as I do. They have for sure set a near perfect example of how the core of metal should be delivered in its best ways. But before you come knocking on my door Parkway Drive has been released music before, they released 2 EPs which you have probably never heard of. They have done a split ep with I Killed The Prom Queen back in 2003 and the not so famous but spectacular 2004 EP ‘Don’t Close Your Eyes’.

POWERWOLF Unveil Details Of Cover Album ‘Communio Lupatum’!

Deutschland’s one of the best power metal exports, POWERWOLF will be coming out with an all cover album, featuring some very big and modern artists in the metal scene. The cover album features many POWERWOLF hit tracks covered by international stars within the metal sphere, such as, EPICA, BATTLEBEAST, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, AMARANTHE, CADAVAR, KALIBAN and many more. It is interesting to note that all the bands featured on this cover album are modern and young, which will really cater to a large mass of modern metalheads. Or if you’re someone who knows how to chill and not cause rift creating stuff like old school and new age, it should cater to you as well. Also, not to forget most of the bands on this album are led by, OR constitute female singers, which is yet another achievement in its own. Bands like EPICA, BATTLEBEAST, AMARANTHE and ELUVEITIE, have been the example setters when it comes to women in metal. And I think POWERWOLF has done a great job in putting forward and carrying on the female power in metal.

Also, this cover album, ‘Communio Lupatum’ will be a part of the all new upcoming POWERWOLF studio record titled, ‘The Sacrament Of Sin‘. ‘Communio Lupatum’ will be a part of the special edition of the brand new LP, which also contains a 3-CD earbook edition with studio album, and an orchestral album!

Album Review: OVERKILL – ‘Live In Overhausen’ (Nuclear Blast)

OVERKILL are a legendary thrash metal band, formed in 1980 in New Jersey. They have gone through many line-up changes, leaving bassist D. D. Verni and lead vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth as the only constant members. OVERKILL‘s current lineup also includes Dave Linsk on lead guitar, Derek Tailer on rhythm guitar and Jason Bittner on drums.

The band are masters of the crunchy thrash that the 1980’s spawned.  They eat and drink metal music and Blitz is a renowned singer within the genre, being one of the godfathers of thrash, along with James Hetfield of METALLICA and Chuck Billy of TESTAMENT.  They have a significant library of studio albums (nineteen in total), including the stone cold classics ‘Under The Influence’ (1988) and ‘Horrorscope’ (1999). LIFE OF AGONY Announces “Rise Of The Underground” West Coast Tour

LIFE OF AGONY is a band you won’t get a lot of opportunities to see live outside of New York and New Jersey. Formed in 1989 the New York hardcore band dominated the genre for 10 years with hit songs like “Through And Through” from their classic album ‘River Runs Red’ that released in 1993. If you are a fan of The Office you may have even heard one of their songs. The title track of their debut album “River Runs Red” was used in “Initiation”, a 2006 episode of The Office. Singer Keith Caputo has now transitioned and is living her life as Mina Caputo. The vocals or the aggression in their music hasn’t changed and the songwriting has only got better. The band was in a hiatus from 1999 until 2002 when the band reformed. The current lineup of the band includes Mina Caputo (vocals), Joey Z (Guitars), Alan Robet (Bass) and Veronica Bellino (drums). Life Of Agony’s 2017 album ‘A Place Where There’s No More Pain’ release via Napalm Records was heralded as one of the best releases of 2017. Also note that Joey Z’s guitar playing is one of the most majestic things you can hear or see. The majority of their shows are sold out and the fan base is dedicated to the band and the sound that they have perfected since their formation more than 25 years ago. The title track from their new album “A Place Where There’s No More Pain” and “World Gone Mad” are stand out tracks you need to hear. Listen to them and you will be shoving people out of your way to get against the rail. This is a band you will not want to miss. Their stage presence and the emotion they put into their songs is something you won’t see from many bands, and it’s not often they play festivals so getting to see this band at such an iconic venue will be an unbelievable moment in live performances.
