Review: DANGEROUS CURVES – S/T [Live Performance Video]

Dangerous Curves is an 80’s and 90’s hard rock/classic metal band from the Maryland or D.C. area that creates their own original songs inspired by that decade of great bands. The band has a passion for hard hitting, high energy music that they grew up with. They name drop songs like AC/DC’s “Dirty Deeds” and Ratt’s “Round And Round” as some of the specific tracks that inspired them to form the band and also their unique sound. They remember the days of singing along in your car to the hot new cassette you just bought. They are inspired to re-create songs that you went to sing along to. John Jamison, Chris Gamble, Linwood Turner and Randy Snowman love that distinct hard-to-play sound that came out of that 80’s/90’s era. The band says “Let’s be unique and do the HARD stuff!” Like Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Megadeth, Metallica, Triumph, Van Halen? The band knows that not everyone is in love with the harder side of the genre like they are, but they try to add elements that will satisfy every band. Coincidentally Dangerous Curves is also the name of Lita Ford’s fifth studio album released in 1991, so the bands name could be a nod in respect to her since the bands unique style and sound comes from that very era of music. Strap in, put your helmet on, and hang on to something, this is going to be one hell of a ride! BLACKTOP MOJO’s Acoustic Video “Underneath” Will Definitely Feed Your Soul!

Normally a fierce hard rock/grunge group out of Palestine, Texas, BLACKTOP MOJO has put out a new and refreshing soft acoustic single, called “Underneath“. Treading the path of what majority of grunge rock bands do, that is, release a soft and heart touching number amidst the heavy hitting characteristic sound, the quintet has managed to pull off an excellent emotional single. Despite it being the norm, the song is definitely not just another brick in the wall(you see what I did there!). The song is about personal suffering and damage and it perfectly encapsulates the message it brings forth. Here’s drummer Nathan breaking down the meaning of the song for you,

I’ve seen firsthand how bitterness and anger can destroy a person from the inside out. This song is about that, but also saying “I understand what happened, and I’m sorry you went through the painful things that brought you to this point” Keep your heart free , forgive people even if they don’t deserve it.

© Jenifer Stratton

The team here at Metal Nexus pride ourselves in the promotion of artists from all over the world and at various stages in their career. We are inundated daily with requests from not just bands, but their publicists and even fans sharing the latest video, song or album releases ranging from the underground to the well established veterans, as they all know whole-heartedly that we as a team will do our upmost to support and give a platform to as many artists as we can across the whole spectrum of Rock and Metal. While we each have our own preferences and tastes, the one thing that every one of us has in common is our sheer passion for music and our desire to make great music heard and enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I share with you today the latest video from Sludge lords Atala. The single “Wilted Leaf” is taken from their forthcoming concept album ‘Labyrinth of Asmedai’ which is set for release on January 26th via Salt Of The Earth Records. If this song is anything to go by, it is going to be one hell of a record!

“Basically, all we did musically was try and rip the roof off of the studio. Vocally I just yelled as hard as I could and blew my voice out, day one, fuck it, it’s rock and roll, not pop” says guitarist/vocalist Kyle Stratton.
