Exclusively at Metal Nexus, Heartsick premieres their brand-new music video today for the emotional ballad “Loveletter” off the band’s upcoming album ‘Sleep Cycles,’ scheduled for release on February 1st, 2019. The clip predominantly features vocalist Alfonso Civile, in a distinctly heartbroken state, roaming the cold streets in search of new direction. Just in time for winter, the song which was produced by Josh Schroeder and the music video which was directed by Zach Bridges, are the perfect melancholic mood and chilling atmosphere for those long, late-December nights. Review: JINJER – ‘Micro’ [Video Stream]

Ukrainian prog/metalcore act Jinjer return with ‘Micro,’ the band’s newest offering that essentially packs an entire album’s worth of punch into five devastating tracks. The EP, scheduled to be released on January 11th, 2019 via Napalm Records, combines many of the familiar elements that fans have come to know and love while, at times, diving a bit deeper into the prog realm, primarily in the form of more technical experimentation. ‘Micro’ is a clear indicator of Jinjer’s maturation as musicians and a solid milestone for what appears to be a band entering their sonic prime. Southern California rock veterans Buckcherry are hitting the road for leg one of the Warpaint Tour 2019 for 40 shows this spring, with the can’t miss, up-and-comers Joyous Wolf as their special guests. Buckcherry will be touring in support of their upcoming new album ‘Warpaint,’ scheduled to release March 8th, 2019, just as the tour is getting underway. The trek will begin in Northern California on March 6th, 2019, making its way up through Canada, then nationwide all across the rest of the US, and winding up in Southern California on May 5th, 2019. According to Buckcherry vocalist Josh Todd, “There will be multiple legs to the tour, so any markets we miss on the first one, we will definitely be in your town somewhere down the line.” Tickets on sale today! Breaking News: Maynard James Keenan Vocals Confirmed On New TOOL Track

In the most recent issue of the band’s official newsletter from December 4th, 2018, webmaster Blair confirms that drummer Danny Carey played a new Tool track for him in his Porsche, referred to simply as “track 3.” “Hellboy,” admin of Fourtheye.net, a popular resource and web forum for all things Tool-related, wrote in a recent post that he subsequently spoke to Blair personally and reports: “I asked Blair if there was Maynard [James Keenan] on what he heard, and the answer was yes. State Of The Art: Iowa’s JIM JONES [Track Stream]

*This is part of our State Of The Art series, showcasing bands every Monday from the featured state. This month’s state is Iowa.*

Named after the infamous cult leader who initiated the mass murder-suicide of hundreds of his followers during the Jonestown Massacre of 1978, Jim Jones is “a good old-fashioned metal band out of Waterloo, Iowa.” As the rest of their tagline reads, “We play loud, we play heavy. Drink the fucking Kool Aid!” For those familiar with the original Jim Jones, the Kool-Aid reference is just pure metal in its blatant callousness. Continue reading
