Bourbon and Beyond 2019 Full Lineup Announcement and Preview!

Bourbon and Beyond is back yet again with another outstanding lineup after being forced to cancel the 2nd day in 2018, due to flooding and heavy rainfall. This rained also caused the whole Louder Than Life festival to be cancelled last year as well. But not to worry, the Danny Wimmer Presents team and the City of Louisville have came together and found an incredible place to have Bourbon and Beyond this year. The Bourbon and Beyond festival along with Louder Than Life and the brand spanking new festival “Hometown Rising” will be home to the Highland Festival Grounds in Louisville, KY. This new location will prevent the rain from stopping the great music and the heads moving! Last year’s Bourbon and Beyond festival was super thrilling even though it just went for one day. Acts like Larkin Poe, Swimming With Bears, Lenny Kravitz, John Mayer, Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers, you can’t go wrong! I had such a good experience last year watching all these acts come together and showing Louisville what it was all about! The rain didn’t stop the crowd from rocking! Even though I thought for sure we were going to be washed away, it did not stop the crowd from enjoying the music whatsoever! When you have a heart for music, nothing gets in the way! BOURBON & BEYOND 2018 [Review & Photo Gallery]

David Byrne

Danny Wimmer Presents the second annual Bourbon and Beyond festival which made its way into Champions Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The grounds were setup with all kinds of different food vendors and they smelled great as soon as you walked through the gates. Every kind of bourbon you could desire was on hand. The VIP tent really made you feel at home with a huge bar, big screen TV’s with a live feed from the main stages, and plenty of tables and couches.

I didn’t know what to think of the weather. Just about everyone I saw had a poncho or rain suit and for good reason. On this cool, rainy, gloomy day in September, a day of live music, great food, and bourbon was upon us. The Bluegrass Situation Stage and the Mash Stage were home to the smaller side stages and the Barrell Stage and the Oak Stage were setup for the headlining acts. The first day had some heavy hitters with John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, and Lenny Kravitz. The Louisville crowd was setup for a great time. Continue reading

An Interview With Senior Vice President of Festival Talent At Danny Wimmer Presents, Gary Spivack!

Gary Spivack has one of the toughest jobs in American when it comes to the music industry. He is the Senior Vice President of Festival Talent At Danny Wimmer Presents. He is responsible for finding and booking all of the bands that play the DWP Festivals all across the country that we so passionately look forward to year after year. Those festivals include: Fort Rock, Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Rock On The Range, Northern Invasion, Chicago Open Air, Aftershock, Louder Than LifeBourbon & Beyond and Rock Allegiance. It is nearly impossible to please every fan that attends these festivals. There are always going to be bands there that they don’t like, or possibly even hate, and in return there are also going to be bands there that they absolutely love. Regardless how amazing the lineup is there will always be complaints along with the praise. However, year after year Gary Spivack is able to book not only some of the most iconic or nostalgic acts in the country but also book those up and coming bands that we instantly become new fans of. New bands are given the opportunity of a lifetime when they get booked on these festivals. They take the stage and have the chance to instantly gain thousands of new fans if their performance impresses the crowd. Gary is not only the person in charge of festival talent he is also a fan, and immensely passionate about music. Gary Spivack and the entire Danny Wimmer Presents team continue to impress us year after year with the wide variety of acts they bring to the stage to entertain us.
