If you are an old school metalhead and you haven’t heard White Wizzard you are in for an amazing treat. Formed in 2007 White Wizzard hails from Los Angeles, California. Tired of the down-tuned screamo metal that seemed to be everywhere, bass player and guitarist/songwriter Jon Leon formed White Wizzard as an outlet to release music he thought needed to be heard. In a modern age when guitar solos and old school falsetto vocals were being lost they brought back a nearly extinct sound. Though the lineup has changed on almost every album, Jon Leon’s songwriting has remained consistent and the name White Wizzard has progressed. Jon Leon is synonymous with White Wizzard. However, on the upcoming album ‘Infernal Overdrive‘ the band brings back classic members, vocalist Wyatt “Screaming Demon” Anderson and guitarist James J LaRue, rejoining with bassist and band leader Jon Leon for the group’s finest record to date.
To celebrate Record Store Day on the 24th November, Nuclear Blast Entertainment will be releasing ‘The Depression Sessions’ exclusively for the first time on CD. In the winter of 2015, three bands with a common outlook on the world came together to create this collective piece of work – each with their own unique stylistic approach to aggressive music. Bridge Nine have just unveiled Jesse Leachs (Killswitch Engage) impassioned electro/dub cover of Minor Threats “Salad Days” as the latest preview to their teased 19-song compilation album entitled ‘Still Having Their Say’. Featuring re-imagined interpretations of Hardcore hallmarks by the likes of Strife, letlive., Fu Manchu, The Riverboat Gamblers and more, the compilation will accompany the long awaited ‘xXx Fanzine (1983-1988) Hardcore & Punk in the Eighties’ book which drops on Nov 10th (pre-orders available here). On “Salad Days”, Leach commented, “I’m honoured to be a part of this covering one of my favourite bands on the planet. I wanted to bring a whole other creative approach to the song. So Cal rockers The Black Hand have just dropped another emotionally charged video for the song “Where Are You Now?” the second to be taken from their debut ‘Self-titled’ album which is out now and available across all platforms. The Rick Gomez directed video features Michael Cudlitz, best known for his role as ‘Abraham’ in the hit television series The Walking Dead. Lead vocalist Chris Hughes describes, “Working on this video was heavy. Everyone involved left it all on the set. As soon as you walked in the room you felt it. SMASHING SATELLITES guitarist Sal Costa who was earlier a part of fellow Canadian rockers MY DARKEST DAYS has just now announced that he will be retiring from the music industry and shall devote time to his personal life and family.
Costa penned down the note below and recollected many of his cherished memories while on road, and being a top notch, world famous musician. He also stated his reasons for retiring. Over the past year he said he “took off from music I spent time living “normal” life.” One of the main reasons he can be seen stating is as follows, “I have no regrets, just perspective. I have learned that 100000 more Platinum plaques won’t replace 30 minutes playing tag with my daughter, 100000 Juno Awards won’t replace a date night with my wife and 100000 #1 songs won’t replace a BBQ (a vegan one of course 
) with a few good friends. That is the truth.” He also says that his year off music has made him aware “where true happiness lies” and that it’s somewhere far from life on road. He voiced his concern over the irksome nature of the industry where the industry “doesn’t care if you live or die” and that “It’s all fake. None of it is real.“
