Fire From The Gods formed in Austin, TX in 2010 and has really sprung onto the scene in the last year or so. Their album ‘Narrative’ had bangers like “Excuse Me” and “End Transmission” with AJ Channer controlling the flow of the songs with his blend of rap, reggae, and rock vocals to keep you on your toes. Fire From The Gods is likely one of the most energetic bands slated to perform at this years Rock USA. AJ Channer is actually the band’s second vocalist after he replaced Eric July who is now doing a project called Backwordz. Fire From The Gods has already played several major festivals like Rock on the Range, Carolina Rebellion, and Welcome to Rockville. They only continue grew in popularity by playing on the Vans Warped Tour a few summers ago. This isn’t just your typical, generic rap metal band. These guys have a message to go with their music that has been needed for a long time. Continue reading →

Moon Rats was formed in 2016 by members of Calliope and Sonic J. The hard hitting 5 piece is dedicated to psychedelic stoner rock that is out of this world. The band is comprised of Al Kraemer on vocals and guitar,
Victor Buell laying down riffs on lead guitar, Brendt Dondero behind the kit on drums, Myles Coyne on bass, and
Nathan Toth on organ. The bands first release came in the form of a single back in May of 2017 with the track “Motor Sword”. The track would also appear on the bands debut full length ‘Highway Lord’ which released on June 23rd 2017. The album was recorded in the remote northern woods of Wisconsin. It was written, produced and recorded by the band and mastered by Justin Perkins at The Mystery Room. The album was released on cassette via Gloss Records, however the band is an independent/unsigned band. ‘Highway Lord’ is by far one of the best debut albums I have heard in years. To think this band formed and recorded this album themselves within a year is an astounding feat that deserves attention. I believe their ability to record on their own and the added ambiance that recording in the remote Wisconsin woods helps the chemistry of the band and keeps their sound unique with no outside influence. Moon Rats have also proved they aren’t lazy and have already released a new single since their debut. The track ‘Ride Or Die’ released in February of this year and claims to be the first glimpse at Moon Rats’ second installment into the Highway Lord mythology, ‘Lonestar.’
Satan’s Dealer was formed in 2013 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band was formerly known as Harbinger of the Apocalypse. This duo is made up of guitarist/ vocalist Jim Powell (Sexual Atrocities, ex-Harbinger of the Apocalypse, ex-Screaming Afterbirth, Infliction Rate), and drummer Neil Pesch (Asatta, ex-Harbinger of the Apocalypse). The band first released a demo ‘Witch Fucker’ in 2013, this demo with songs like ‘Sex, Drugs, Rock n’ Satan’ and ‘Iron Sabbath (Black Maiden)’ proved the band’s sound was much larger than any run of the mill two man band. Like their name may hint Satan’s Dealer has lyrical content that is centered around occult darkness, satan and drugs. When it comes to the bands instrumentation and vocals they incorporate influences from several different genres. You will hear some doom, stoner rock and even some thrash elements from the band. All of these with some other unique additions create the bands own personal style that has been forged over time. Satan’s Dealer has now released a follow up to their demo titled ‘Dealer Of The Gods’ which was released on June 1, 2017.
We recently lost one of rock n rolls wildest and most respected characters in Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor former drummer of Motorhead. Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy, Killer Be Killed) touring with his band Soulfly, his son Richie’s band Incite, and Crowbar. Kirk Windstein of Crowbar along with drummer Tommy Buckley joined the father and son to pay tribute to Phil Taylor by covering the Moterhead hit “Ace Of Spades”. Once you put this album on play you will automatically assume it is one of the great Florida death metal pioneers, however this is the new Jungle Rot album “Order Shall Prevail”. Since 1994 the band has slowly been climbing to the top of the food chain in the death metal world. This album solidifies their place at the top. The bands 9th studio album brings to you the teeth grinding, hard hitting violence that the fans have grown to expect. From the moment you hit play the brutality begins, the guitars and machine gun like drums welcome you to the album in the opening track “Doomsday”. Speeding through the song as singer Dave Matrise’s vocals are the cure all to any metal head’s needs. The album also features Brazilian icon Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, Ex-Seplutura) on the track “Fight Where You Stand”. Everything comes together in a perfect storm like assault and Max’s vocals fit into the song like a glove. The tone of the album is set, and the brutality continues. The song entitled “Trench Tactics” brings with it these old school shrieking guitar parts that make it one of our favorites. The song changes pace several times, slowing down and then the fierce drum beat leading it back into a faster pace. From start to finish this record is exactly what Jungle Rot fans expect from them, and will help them earn a slew of new fans as they tour the U.S. Catch them on the Rockstar Mayhem tour and feel their wrath in the flesh.
