Rivers Of Nihil’s Brody Uttley (guitar) comments: “This live music video for ‘The Silent Life’ was filmed by the kind folks over at MyGoodEye Visuals in our hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania on the last date of our recent headlining tour. We had our good pal Zach Strouse playing live saxophone with us that night, so it seemed like a great chance to catch some footage. As always, working with David Brodsky and his team was a blast. We hope you enjoy.
We will also be embarking on our second European tour late this November with our friends in Revocation, Archspire, and Soreption. We will be playing a nice selection of new tunes as well as some old favorites. Come out and get in the pit!”

The Bucketlist With THE BEAST OF NOD

*In this series we pose the age old questions to a wide array of music lovers. As fans of music most of us keep a mental list of active bands we want to see live that we haven’t yet seen. The Bucketlist brings to you those lists of your favorite artists and why those bands mean so much to them*

We are back again with our Bucketlist segment and today we have technical death metal quartet from Boston, MA, THE BEAST OF NOD. In an age where there are a plethora of genre names, it is sometimes hard to categorise a band, but who cares? Here we are, with this Boston outfit who in their own words play “intergalactic death metal”, as crazy and interesting it sounds, the band’s ferocious and high speed brutal death metal certainly does keep upto it’s self imposed genre name. You might think these are some extra terrestrial bunch of sci fi aliens who formed up a band and is ready to wreck chaos upon humankind, while you’re watching Netflix on your recliner. Nah, they are just pretty chill, nerd tech death guys who do get into beast mode once they shred like hell with linear song structures, extreme tremolo pickings, odd time signatures and outright technical passages. So much techy!

DESPISED ICON Come-back Headliner In London, UK! [Review + Photo Gallery]

“It’s been a long f**king time!” shouted front man Alex Erian. In fact, it’s been 11 years since Despised Icon have graced our shores with a headline set – long since 2007’s phenomenal co-headline UK/European tour with Misery Index, Annotations For An Autopsy and Beneath The Massacre. Whilst they have played the UK as recently as 2016, tonight marked a monumental occasion, firmly solidifying the Montreal metallers legacy and dominance over the Deathcore scene. For fans, this headline set may have been a long time coming but ‘The Beast’ is back and fully reawakened!

Following immediately on from their sold-out show in Antwerp, tonight’s performance at The Dome in central London marked the first leg of the UK section of this momentous comeback tour. With only a handful of tickets left on the door of this 500 capacity venue, and subsequent shows at Birmingham and Manchester expected to sell out, it was clear that everyone here was about to witness something very special. With support combining the best tech, hardcore and slam, whoever put this line-up together must be some kind of god-tier genius – for joining alongside Despised Icon were Vulvodynia, Archspire and the UK’s very own Malevolence. Missing this show was not an option!

Plague’s Top 10 Albums Of 2017

2018 is finally here! I don’t know about you, but after all the terrible shit that happened in the world this past year I’m definitely glad there was a heaping mound of great metal album releases to fall back on when things got rough. I think we can all agree that good music is more than just luxury we enjoy, but to many of us, a necessity, an escape from the tumultuous clamor of our increasingly difficult realities. When you’re a person who loves heavy music more than you love most people sifting through all of the stellar releases 2017 has given us can become a daunting task, but after some time for reflection I’ve compiled my ten favorites, and I’m excited to share them with you.
