Sir Collapse formed in 2013 in Neuss, Germany. Sir Collapse combines elements of alternative, grunge and prog into their music to make a special blend of music that is unique to them. The members that make up the band are Lukas Kuppers on vocals, Philipp Krach providing the riffs, Dennis Ozmen on bass and Martin Herrmann behind the drum kit. The band recorded and released their first demo of 5 tracks in March of 2015. The band followed that up with the release of their debut EP ‘Audiofil Citrate’ in January 2016. The band has recently recorded and released their first full length album titled ‘Walk To The Moon’. Sir Collapse recorded the record at Gottesweg Studio A in Cologne, Germany. In an effort to recreate a live feeling within their music the band didn’t track each instrument and instead decided to record everything in one room together. The band also left any small mistakes in the final recorded and didn’t edit them out so the album would be even more true to their live shows or a rehearsal session. The stunning artwork for the album and also in the inner sleeve/booklet was created by Justin at Nepomuk – Illistration. ‘Walk To The Moon’ was released on October 19th, 2018.  Continue reading →

Grant National come to us from Germany and claim they have been “Making juices flow since 1973”. You can certainly hear some old school influence in their sound, but they are by no means stuck in that era and there are tons of modern influence in their music as well. The band is comprised of Gaylord Goldmann (Vocals, Bass, Guitar), Earo Sheppert (Guitars), and new member N.D. Sheppert (Drums). With influences ranging from James Brown to The Melvins the band somehow manages to cohesively mold all these differing influences into one well flowing style. The bands last release was ‘Volume II’ in 2013 and prior to that the band released ‘Sheer Beauty’ in 2011. The band has now unleashed their newest creative force with ‘Double Black’ on October 20th, 2017. Grant National took a little longer between records this time around and I believe it certainly shows in the progression of their sound. ‘Double Black’ was recorded with German Noiserock popes Guido Lucas & Ralf J. Rock at their Stöhrsound Studio during the 1st half of 2017 and the album was released via Bluenoise Records.

In less than two weeks, Samsara Blue Experiment‘s fourth full length album officially releases. The trio formed in Germany in 2007 and is well praised in the stoner/doom/psychedelic rock community. ‘One With The Universe’ will be released via Electric Magic Records, the band’s second album on the label. The artwork you see above was created by French artist Michel Bassot. Samsara Blues Experiment lives up to their name by experimenting a little bit more with synthesizers than they have on past records. They still manage to maintain the focus of putting forth heavy material while also adding in new elements to open more doors for the band. Although it doesn’t drop physically until May 12th, you can already stream the album online. The band worked with largely popular YouTube channel Stoned Meadow of Doom and you can actually listen to it below right now. Members of the legendary doom band Pentagram and Mondo Drag have paid tribute to fallen outlaw country superstar Merle Haggard. They performed Merle Haggard’s “Sing Me Back Home” in Wiesbaden, Germany April 08, 2016. Bobby Liebling wasn’t at the mic for this song however, it was Pentagram’s legendary guitar player and Tennessee native Victor Griffin belting out the song in Merle’s honor. Of course Griffin is no stranger to the microphone. He is the front man of Place of Skulls, and Victor Griffin’s In-Graved. So 3 parts Pentagram 2 parts Mondo Drag makes for an amazing sound. The line-up for the song consisted of Pentagram’s Victor Griffin, Pete Campbell, and Greg Turley, and Mondo Drag’s John Gamino and Jacob Sheley. Enjoy! Continue reading →

Kadavar have released the music video for “The Old Man” which will be on the upcoming album named after their hometown “Berlin”. It is the first song released off the album which will be the bands 3rd album. The song is the Kadavar we all know, and if you don’t know them yet you have been missing out. This song just gives us a tease of what to expect out of the new album, which will be some of the best acid rock around. The new album is being released by Nuclear Blast on August 21st.
