Carolina Rebellion 2017 Day 2 Review [Photo Gallery]

Ready for day 2 of Carolina Rebellion. After an amazing first day everyone was pumped and ready to enter the show for day 2. The day was full of diverse bands from different generations and wide ranging genres. You can go from Tesla to Machine Gun Kelly, or Sum 41 to DED. Today’s lineup really had a little something for everyone.  The Saturday lineup was filled with a tremendous amount of new names in metal like DED, Cover Your Tracks, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and many more. Of course those are then followed up by bands who have been around the block a few times now like In This Moment, Nothing More, All That Remains and Alter Bridge. Then you have bands that have been around for decades like Sum 41, In Flames, Tesla, Korn and Def Leppard. Saturday we spent a lot of time interviewing bands and didn’t get a chance to make it out to see every band, but the ones we did see blew our minds. The must see bands on our list for this day cane in the form of a veteran act Sum 41 and a brand new band DED. Being around for the glory years of Sum 41’s career made me want to experience them live for the first time. DED is an amazing up and coming band that is about to release their debut album and their single “Anti-Everything” has become an anthem to the troublesome times we live in today. Continue reading

METAL MAYA: All-Inclusive Heavy Metal Dest-Fest Vacation

In recent years, metal festival brainchilds and promoters have taken a different but very appealing and exciting approach to treat metal fans the best indulgence they could ever sink their teeth in.  Festivals and unique endeavours such as Full Metal Mountain, Full Metal Cruise, 70000 Tonnes Of Metal have left no stone un-turned in trying to break away from the typical monotony of a festival set in large grounds, with camping etc. No doubt that the stereotypical festival is fun, but festivals like 70000 Tonnes Of Metal have set the bar high up when it comes to live performance and the overall thrill and fun it comes along with. Another one such festival that will debut this year is METAL MAYA, an all inclusive heavy metal destination-festival vacation, that promises to be the ideal holiday vacation for metalheads all across the globe. Including live performances from some of the best metal bands out there, it also has a plethora of other lucrative offers and activities, METAL MAYA will begin on October 29 up until November 2. Can this get any better!?  Continue reading

Louder Than Life came back this year with such an amazing lineup. Last year had more of a southern rock feel and this year was so much heavier. Ranging from some older classic bands to some of music’s fastest up and comers the lineup was filled full talented bands of varying genres. Unfortunately, we can’t see every band, so if we didn’t mention someone here it’s simply that we had a conflicting schedule with their set. If only we could see every band it would be a perfect day. We always look forward to festival season, but we have been anticipating the Doomed & Stoned Fest as much as any other. They also are keeping the festival season running late into the year by booking the show in November. As we get closer and closer to that date circled on our calendar we get more anxious. All Them Witches

All Them Witches

All Them Witches

Rising out of the country music capital of the world, All Them Witches formed in 2012 and quickly became one of our favorite bands. They released their second album entitled “Lightning at the Door” in 2014 and it’s an album that never grows old. They can be called anything from desert rock, stoner rock, to psychedelic. The sound they create is like a potluck, where everyone in the band brings something to the table. Last year’s release is going to be hard to compete with in regards to a follow up, but they announced they have been working on their 3rd release. Unlike “Lightning at the Door” the 3rd All Them Witches album will not be self-released, as they recently signed with New West Records. They have been making the festival rounds this year as they just played Bonnaroo on June 13th and have been added to the Louder Than Life festival taking the stage on October 3rd in Louisville, Kentucky. They are by far one of the best bands on the bill that is filled with other big names. Not only is the music they play different from some of the rest that will be playing at the festival, but you can expect them to have a breakthrough live performance that will leave you wanting more. They are a raw talent that has a beautiful and unpolished sound that is sure to create fans by the masses. Festival goers who aren’t familiar with the band will be pleasantly surprised and we think All Them Witches will be leaving Kentucky with a much larger fan base. They are just one of many reasons to attend the festival this year as we will continue to showcase the bands appearing at Louder Than Life.
