Bourbon & Beyond Festival Spotlight: SAMANTHA FISH [Official Videos]

Samantha Fish will be one of the many tremendous acts at this year’s Bourbon and Beyond Festival. Bourbon and Beyond has a new home. It is still in Louisville, Kentucky of course, but will call a new festival grounds home. This year, Bourbon and Beyond will take place at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo. The previous location, Champions Park, had a terrible flood last year and day 2 of Bourbon and Beyond was cancelled. However, to make up for that, Bourbon and Beyond is now a 3 day festival. This means an additional day of bands, bourbon and best friends! How awesome is that? This will be Samantha Fish’s debut for Bourbon and Beyond. Bourbon & Beyond Festival Spotlight: BLACKBERRY SMOKE [Official Videos]

 

Welcome back to our ongoing series of Bourbon & Beyond 2019 artist profiles, our weekly guide through the lineup of acts who’ll take the stage at Louisville, Kentucky’s Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Expo Center September 20-22nd in what’s sure to be one of the biggest concert events of the year. This week, we’re taking a closer look at Blackberry Smoke.

Blackberry Smoke is one of the up and coming bands to play this year at the Bourbon and Beyond Festival. Bourbon and Beyond has a new home this year. It is still in Louisville, Kentucky of course, but a different festival grounds. This new location is the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo. The former location, Champions Park, was flooded last year and day 2 of Bourbon and Beyond was cancelled along with the whole Louder Than Life festival. Bourbon and Beyond was previously a 2 day festival but this year has expanded to 3 days, so you get an entire additional day of bands. Blackberry Smoke was set to play last year but didn’t get the opportunity due to the park flooding. So, all the fans that missed out last year, get ready because they are making their phenomenal return and I’m sure they will make up for the rains that washed them away last year! Aftershock 2018 Spotlight: AMIGO THE DEVIL [Video Stream]

*This is part of our “Aftershock Festival 2018 Spotlight” where we branch out and focus on some of the up-and-coming bands that fans can see at this year’s Aftershock Festival on October 13th & 14th.  This week, we’re checking out AMIGO THE DEVIL.*

Adding a healthy dose of variety to the Aftershock lineup this year is acoustic folk artist Danny Kiranos, aka Amigo the Devil. For the most part Kiranos delivers a one-man unplugged performance with just his vocals along with a guitar/banjo. His musical style can range from tongue-in-cheek humored, singalong bar ballads such as “I Hope Your Husband Dies” to the dark and morbid, Harry Chapin-esque “Cocaine and Abel” while drawing inspiration from bluegrass, southern rock, and extreme music. The sonic depth and emotion of Amigo the Devil received a much-appreciated, unfiltered treatment in the studio via veteran mega-producer Ross Robinson (Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit) who produced the new album ‘Everything is Fine.’ It was recorded at Valentine Studios, which had been untouched since the seventies, with all original gear, straight to tape. With Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave) overseeing the project, the record is exactly what Kiranos had always wanted, commenting, “It was the first process of recording that ever made complete sense with absolutely no filler or veil to compensate for the sounds … It was absolute and pure brutal honesty …” Continue reading

Dez Fafara (Devildriver) “I’m Gonna Be Releasing A Record Every 16-18 Months From Here On Out”

 

Devildriver formed in 2002 and with 7 albums under their belt are about the change the game of metal up entirely. Which is nothing new for vocalist Dez Fafara who’s other band Coal Chamber was the first band to be classified with the term nu-metal. Devildriver is set to release their upcoming outlaw country covers album which boasts some guest appearances by Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), Hank 3, John Carter Cash (Johnny Cash’s son), Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory) and others. They cover tracks by famous country musicians like Dwight Yoakam, Hank Williams Jr., Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, George Jones and others. The album titled ‘Outlaws ’til The End: Vol. 1′ is set to release July 6th via Napalm Records.  Continue reading
