Lillake is a musical project created by Founder and Owner, Nico Santora. The debut album entitled ‘Become’ was written and recorded between March – November of 2015, and released on July 19th 2016. Lillake has a unique sound that is sometimes put into the doom genre, but they also have these amazing rhythmic beats and melodies that may be influenced outside that genre. The and recently went on tour with Goatwhore and Crowbar and is about to embark on yet another huge tour with Megadeth. The band’s current lineup features veteran musicians Nico Santora (Suicidal Tendencies, The Faceless) , Eric Moore (Suicidal Tendencies, T.R.A.M., Bobby Brown) , Alex Vazquez (Abiotic), Steven Funderburk (Wretched, Through The Eyes of the Dead). To say this is a super group is an understatement. Everyone in this band brings something powerful to the band. Sammy Duet (Goatwhore) and Kirk Windstein (Crowbar)

It’s not often that you get to see two iconic New Orleans bands together in a small intimate venue. This night had several extraordinary factors. The co-headliners were none other than the all mighty Crowbar and the ferociously aggressive Goatwhore. The two bands have not only similarities in geography but have also had intermingling members in the bands or side projects. Goatwhore guitarist Sammy Duet was a member of Crowbar from 1998–2002, and was an integral part of Crowbar’s iconic album ‘Odd Fellows Rest’. Crowbar drummer Tommy Buckley and Goatwhore vocalist Ben Falgoust are also members of the band Soilent Green together. So of course the bands have a great camaraderie. Of course these weren’t the only bands that would grace the stage on this heavy metal showcase. The opening band Lillake formed in 2015, so they are just beginning their musical journey. However, the members of this band are by no means new to the metal world. Drummer Eric Moore is one of the most revered drummers around. Both Eric Moore and Lillake vocalist/guitarist Nico Santora were members of Suicidal Tendencies. Eric Moore was in the band from 2008 – 2015, and Santora was in the band from 2012 – 2016 and left the band to focus his time on Lillake. Continue reading →

Riff lords Crowbar have announced co-headlining tour dates with NOLA neighbors Goatwhore, capping off the calendar year with style. “This upcoming tour is one that we’re all looking forward to!,” says Kirk Windstein. “These are our Brothers. Hell, Sammy Duet was in Crowbar for a few of our best records! To the fans of both bands, here’s your early Christmas present!” Crowbar is touring in support of their upcoming album ‘The Serpent Only Lies’ which releases October 28th via eOne Music. This album is following up one of Crowbar’s most successful records to date. ‘The Serpent Only Lies’ will be the follow up to the highly buzzed about ‘Symmetry in Black’. That album sold over 4,000 copies in its first week of release in 2014, the highest of any LPs in the band’s 27 year career, beating out its predecessor, 2011’s ‘Sever the Wicked Hand’. We recently reviewed the bands new album (read here) and we are sure the album will be well received by everyone. Our hopes on this tour, which we wouldn’t miss is that Sammy gets on stage and at least plays one song with Crowbar. Continue reading →
