Florida is rich in music. You can hear it throughout the state. Sure, most of what’s being played now is no where near what is once was. One band is set to change that. 100 Watt Vipers is a two piece group made up of DJ Riddick banging the drums and taking vocal duties and Paul Joesph riffing the guitar. Formed in 2013 by the two friends, 100 Watt Vipers have released 3 D.I.Y. Albums; ‘Something Wicked Comes This Way’, ‘Cold Sunday Blues’, and 2016’s release of ‘Hellhound Train Rollin’.
Based out of Jacksonville, 100 Watt Vipers will take you back to the basics with a garage rock take on the delta blues. Their live performances are more focused on sound than energetic. While Joseph is riffing in his SG and keeping the song going. Riddick is pulling off the amazingly hard feat of drumming and singing. His perfect timing helps push Joseph’s train of sound ahead. In regards to singing the blues, Riddick’s vocasl are very low in tone and very raspy. A great tone for the songs. Joesph’s sound is mostly fuzz based and almost never uses a clean tone. If you’re ever around the Jacksonville area or see that 100 Watt Vipers are coming near you, don’t hesitate to go. They will thrill you with the sounds of the delta.
