Prepare yourself for one of the most entertaining tour lineups of the year. These bands, one of which is inspired by McDonald’s and Black Sabbath and the other is dedicated to The Simpson’s favorite Christian neighbor Ned Flanders aren’t all comedy; they are also talented musicians that dominate the stage in every way possible. While these acts are comical just to think about in the way they are themed they take their music seriously and are made up of talented musicians.
Mac Sabbath mix raucous comedy with borderline-horrific theatrics, the only thing more petrifying than impending health problems resulting from years of overeating is a Mac Sabbath show. Show attendees should be prepared to partake in the fun – Mac Sabbath puts on a theatrical, multimedia stage show –
complete with a smoking grill, laser-eyed clowns, bouncing burgers and many more magical surprise including the members dressed as an evil Ronald McDonald aka Ronald Osbourne on vocals, a terrifying cheeseburger aka Slayer MacCheeze on guitar, Grimus aka Grimalice on bass, and The Hamburgler aka the Catburglar on drums. The band takes those iconic Black Sabbath songs and comicly re-hashes them into an ode for the golden arches of McDonalds. For instance Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf” becomes “Sweet Beef” and you have yourself some “Drive Thru Metal.” The band has been named by Buzzfeed as one of the “13 Metal Bands You Didn’t Know How to React To,” and as LA’s “Best Tribute Band” by LA Weekly. Mac Sabbath recently met their inspiration, Ozzy Osbourne and he seemed to love their performance, so if they get the thumbs up from the Ozz man; you know its great.
Established in 2015, Phoenix, Arizona based “Nedal” band Okilly Dokilly found success before even playing
their first show, reaching viral phenomenon status after releasing just a few press photos and a four-song demo. Within two weeks, the band netted nearly 30,000 Facebook fans and was featured by numerous
publications including Billboard, Time, The Independent, BBC, Esquire, Rolling Stone, Vice and many
more. The band was in instant success with both metal heads and fans of The Simpsons. In 2016, the band released their debut album, ‘Howdilly Doodilly’ – a 13-track catalog filled with Flanderisms, rushing guitars and more than enough left-handed puns. The band dress like and rock a mustache just like Ned Flanders. They have turned the Jesus loving obnoxious neighbor’s phrases into straight up death metal songs with gutt wrenching screams and shredding riffs. Okilly Dokilly released their second full-length album, entitled Howdilly Twodilly, on March 29, 2019. Just over a week later, Okilly Dokilly reached pinnacle Ned status when their “White Wine Spritzer” video, which has over 5.4 million views on YouTube and counting, was featured on The Simpsons.
Get out and see this tour. I promise you won’t see another tour lineup like this.
