DEATH ANGEL are Bay Area’s one of the most well known thrash metal bands of all time who has had an illustrious career spanning well over 30 odd years and having belted out some of the all time thrash metal classics like their debut ‘The Ultraviolence‘ which just breathes pure unadulterated speed/thrash metal. Their recent album was last year’s ‘The Evil Divide‘, which in my humble opinion is one of their best works till date. It is raw, gritty and thrash to the core, the way it’s meant to be. It has been just a wee bit over a year since ‘The Ultraviolence‘ came out in May 26th, 2016, via record label, Nuclear Blast. On this day, the thrashers release a lyric video for their song, ‘Breakaway‘ from their latest offering, that is, ‘The Evil Divide‘, a great track no doubt!
DEATH ANGEL have been very busy touring in support of their new album, voyaging across countries and continents, also featuring on specials like ‘70000 Tonnes of Metal’. They are also gonna be there playing at ‘Metal Maya’ which is a heavy metal dest-fest, a very appealing and innovative concept of a all metal holiday destination. A few days back we featured ‘Metal Maya’ on an article, which you can read here. Continue reading

“International Day of Slayer“, the annual heavy metal holiday that celebrates the uncompromising, loud and defiant music of the iconic thrash/punk/metal band SLAYER, is celebrating its 12th year today, 6/6/17. IDoS is the day where you stage a “Slay-out, Slay-in, Slay-on, Slay-off” – don’t go to school, don’t go to work – but spend the day listening to Slayer at nuclear blast level in your car, your home, or in the public place of your choice. True Slayer devotees do NOT use headphones but crank the sound up as loud as possible so that everyone within earshot can hear SLAYER.
To celebrate this year’s IDoS, SiriusXM‘s Liquid Metal (Ch. 40) is playing SLAYER every hour from 12 Midnight ET 6/6 through to 3AM ET 6/7, and the channel’s Jose Mangin will be airing interviews with the band members. SiriusXM is also hosting a special contest where one winner + a guest will receive round trip air transportation to Las Vegas for SLAYER‘s August 4 show, plus two nights at a Vegas hotel, two tickets to the show, a meet’n’greet with members of SLAYER and $200 ground transportation. But this prize package just gets better: the winner will also score his or her very own Tom Araya Signature Bass TA-204 FRX model, PLUS the brand new Kerry King B.C. Rich signature guitar, the KKW30 model, which is not yet available in stores. Mangin will be on hand in Las Vegas as the winner’s personal host/escort. Those interested in entering the contest should stay tuned to Liquid Metal, or can log onto www.slayer.net where all details will be posted shortly. Continue reading
Often cited as the pioneers of the death doom genre, English group PARADISE LOST from Halifax, West Yorkshire started out way back in 1988 and are still going strong without a hiccup in its way. 14 albums down the pipeline, with their recent one, ‘The Plague Within‘ coming out two years ago, the doom lords are back in action as they announce the release date and the beautiful album cover for their 15th full length upcoming studio album ‘Medusa‘. The new album will see the light of the day on September 1st via Nuclear Blast Records, the album being already described as “melding crushing doom metal with Nick Holmes’ harsh death growls and raw organic sounds, heralding a new era of pure Northern misery.”, arguably the heaviest record in the past 15 years. Brisbane death metallers/deathcore stalwarts AVERSIONS CROWN have announced a massive month long European headlining tour this coming summer starting from the 27th day of July in Tolmin, Slovenia at one of the biggest European metal festivals, MetalDays. AVERSIONS CROWN formed back in 2010 has released three albums till date with their debut surfacing on 2011 entitled, ‘Servitude‘ which was an independent release. Their latest offering came earlier this year in the form of ‘Xenocide‘ after their second installment, ‘Tyrant‘ under the label Nuclear Blast Records. Robing in new vocalist Mark Poida, the band has remained undeterred in the line up change and are constantly trying to up their game. Playing a blend of death metal and deathcore, they have been a huge name in the circuit off late with their alien themed lyrical approach and concept. So much so that they have been labelled as Alien metallers.
Earlier a month or two back, we reviewed their new album, ‘Xenocide‘, so if you think on buying a copy of it, be sure to check the review out here. They will also be doing an Australian tour this week with Boris The Blade and Alphawolf. Continue reading

Prosthetic Records will be helping Marty Friedman release his latest installment of a record. ‘Wall Of Sound‘ happens to be his much awaited release after his 2014 Billboard charting record, ‘Inferno‘. The guitar virtuoso who now lives in Japan and takes part in their culture will see him dish forth 11 brand new tracks in the record, that also features a wide range of diverse artists as guests : Jinxx (Black Veil Brides), Shiv Mehra (Deafheaven) and Jorgen Munkeby (Shining). In recent years, metal festival brainchilds and promoters have taken a different but very appealing and exciting approach to treat metal fans the best indulgence they could ever sink their teeth in. Festivals and unique endeavours such as Full Metal Mountain, Full Metal Cruise, 70000 Tonnes Of Metal have left no stone un-turned in trying to break away from the typical monotony of a festival set in large grounds, with camping etc. No doubt that the stereotypical festival is fun, but festivals like 70000 Tonnes Of Metal have set the bar high up when it comes to live performance and the overall thrill and fun it comes along with. Another one such festival that will debut this year is METAL MAYA, an all inclusive heavy metal destination-festival vacation, that promises to be the ideal holiday vacation for metalheads all across the globe. Including live performances from some of the best metal bands out there, it also has a plethora of other lucrative offers and activities, METAL MAYA will begin on October 29 up until November 2. Can this get any better!? Continue reading
Prophets Of Rage combines the sonic firepower of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. Prophets Of Rage, features all the members of Rage Against The Machine except Zack. On vocals is Cypress Hill’s B-Real and Chuck D of and DJ Lord of Public Enemy. Morello declared to Rolling Stone: “We’re an elite task force of revolutionary musicians determined to confront this mountain of election year bullshit, and confront it head-on with Marshall stacks blazing.” The band’s name derives from the title of the Public Enemy song “Prophets of Rage” from its 1988 album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. To coincide with the band’s protest performance at the Republican National Convention, it released its debut single, titled “Prophets of Rage”. The band created a major buzz when they postered every wall in Hollywood with their their logo, and no one knowing exactly what it meant until they played its first live show on January 20, 2016. Last year, Prophets of Rage released their debut EP,’The Party’s Over’, and hit the road together for the very first time. The band now has their debut full length ready to hit stores. Due out September 15th, the self-titled record spans 12 tracks, including titles like “Radical Eyes”, “Legalize Me”, “Hail to the Chief”, “Strength in Numbers”, and “Who Owns Who”. Prophets of Rage were joined in the studio by veteran producer Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, AC/DC, RATM). The band has now released their first single from the upcoming record. “Unfuck The World” is a politically charged song and the video carries on with the sentiment as well. It was directed by renowned film maker Michael Moore. Moore and Prophets Of Rage both are always about creating controversy and putting their ideas and beliefs out into the world. The combination of the band and film maker working together makes for an exciting and revolutionary video. It was also just announced that the band will be headlining this years Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky on October 1st. Continue reading
