An Interview With Nachtmystium Frontman Blake Judd

2016-04-01_08-21-42-1-1

Nachtmystium has been one of the most extreme and creative bands around for sometime. A few years ago Blake announced that Nachtmystium would be going on an indefinite hiatus and many fans of his music were heart broken. That time away from music gave Blake Judd some time to get his personal life in order. The time away from music certainly gave him the things he needed, and also made his hunger to create more ravenous. Luckily he recently announced he is back to making music and is soon to record a new EP. We got the chance to catch up with Blake and talk about both the past and the future.

EYEHATEGOD Frontman Mike IX Williams Needs Liver Transplant And Your Help!

Eye Hate God - Mike IX Williams

Eye Hate God – Mike IX Williams

Eyehategod frontman Mike IX Williams needs a liver transplant and his wife is asking fans to help pay for the life-saving treatment. We have known for a while something was going on with Mike as he stepped back from performing with Eyehategod this year, but his absence wasn’t really explained. Phil Anselmo and Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe have filled in for him at recent Eyehategod shows. Mike’s wife Michelle Maher-Williams has launched a crowdfunding page and given a full update on the singer’s health. She says Williams, 48, remains in hospital and that he will not be given a transplant until a number of medical bills are settled. Mike is not only an icon when it comes to sludge and extreme music, but he is also one of the nicest people you will meet. His wife also revealed that in December of 2014 the vocalist was hospitalized in Texas with a failing liver. Doctors eventually diagnosed Mike with cirrhosis of the liver and after meeting with a specialist, the singer changed his diet and lifestyle and began to see some improvement in his liver function. For people living with a condition like Cirrhosis, products such as nano glutathione are said to help improve the function of the liver. It is also about the individual trying to make a change too. This shows the amount of work that Mike has done to regain his health. Mike now needs your help. We all want to see Mike take the stage again and as of right now he is unable to leave the hospital. If you can help in any way we urge you to donate to this campaign to aid Mike in his medical expenses. Our thoughts are certainly with Mike, his family, and his band as well. However, for people who suffer from Cirrhosis, it can be difficult to get things like health insurance cover, so finding companies like Special Risk Managers, could help people suffering from this condition to get the healthcare they need.

UPDATE: The goal for the Crowdfunding Campaign has now been met, but everything additional stills helps as he will have many more expenses before leaving the hospital.

You can visit the Crowdfunding page here and show your support with a donation.

Review: DESTINOVA ‘Nameless Goat’ [Video]

destinova_moerfelden-22

Destinova began in 2007 in Leverkusen, Germany and their music has evolved more between then and now than most bands do in a lifetime. The band has had a couple name changes, lineups and style changes along the way. The band originally started as a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover band. When that didn’t seem to gel the band quickly turned to original songs. Tim took over vocals and guitar, Sandro, who used to play a bit just for fun, became the drummer and Thomas took the bass guitar. During that time the bands name was Think Twice and their intent was to write songs you had to think twice about. They decided to do away with the name as their was already a band using the moniker and they just wanted something new. The name then became Poetry Fact. Then their musical style progressed and they was born again with the current name DESTINOVA. The band had very little experience when they started, and there has been a learning curve, but their music has really came together and they have truly found their sound. In 2012 they added Stevo on guitar and additional vocals. The bands upcoming release is “Nameless Goat” is a follow up to their self titled EP. The album is set to release December 1st. The album was recorded at Mario Dahmen’s Liquid Aether Audio in Germany. Mario Dahmen (Betray Your Idols, Scarscab, Bloodattack) also produced the album. Continue reading

music-stone-temple-pilots

It was reported yesterday that STONE TEMPLE PILOTS out of thousands of auditions had chosen X Factor season three runner-up Jeff Gutt, who now goes by his full name, Jeffrey Adam Gutt as the bands new frontman. The report came from a source confirmed to Entertainment Tonight. The band hadn’t made an official announcement at the time this story was published. Gutt also made an appearance on season 2 as well but was cut during the bootcamp round. Gutt was the singer of the California based nu-metal band Dry Cell. The band was active from 1998-2005 and then again from 2008-2010. STONE TEMPLE PILOTS’ rep has made the following statement to ET as of today. “The band has been rehearsing with several singers over the past few weeks.” So the wait is not over, and the band has not made a final decision on who will become the next singer of the illustrious band. Whoever gets the gig has some big shoes to fill replacing original singer Scott Weiland, and also former singer Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. The band has been in search of a new singer since February of 2015. Currently we are just few weeks away from the one year anniversary of Weiland passing on December 4th. Continue reading
