German Black metal visionaries Der Weg Einer Freiheit have kicked off their European tour in support of their highly acclaimed and recently released album ‘Finisterre’. Alongside Primordial and Moonsorrow, the “Heathen Crusade 2018” tour will charge through multiple countries throughout the month and will showcase Der Weg Einer Freiheit at the height of their powers. Since their establishment in 2009, Der Weg Einer Freiheit have made waves across the underground Black metal scene in Germany since their self-released debut album ‘Der Weg Einer Freiheit’ and subsequent releases ‘Unstille’ (2012) and ‘Stellar’ (2015), and well-received EPs in between. They have performed at many festivals in Europe including most recently Ragnarök Festival, as well as Brutal Assault, Graspop, Hellfest, With Full Force Open Air and more, and in their short time as a band have toured with Shining, Ensiferum, The Ocean and more.
Now, described as “without a doubt head and shoulders above its peers” by Metal Injection, the bands latest offering ‘Finisterre’ highlights them as one of modern Black metal’s finest outfits. The record burns with a vast and immersive intensity – drums blast at breakneck speeds with furious rhythms and vocals, while epic passages build to grand finales laden with gloom and despair. ‘Finisterre’ is available now via Season Of Mist, here. The band have recently released the official video for the single “Aufbruch” taken from ‘Finisterre’ that was shot live on the bands last European tour!
