Polish death metal outfit DECAPITATED on Tuesday afternoon made an appearance in a Los Angeles court, against the allegations of gang rape and kidnapping a woman on the night of August 31, after they were finished performing at downtown Spokane, Washington. All four members of DECAPITATED — Michal Lysejko, 31, Waclaw Kieltyka, 35, Rafal Piotrowski, 31, and Hubert Wiecek, 30 — showed up in the LA court yesterday.
The Spokane Police Department‘s Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) are also looking for further witnesses to account for what may have happened on the night of the alleged assault by all the four members of the band inside their tour bus which was parked outside The Pin concert venue.
They were arrested at around 2 a.m. Saturday in Santa Ana, California after performing at the Observatory as part of the “Double Homicide” tour with THY ART IS MURDER.
In court Tuesday afternoon, the band members took turns in front of a judge agreeing to be extradited to Washington, according to KABC. They all had a Polish translator while a representative from the Polish consulate sat in the courtroom.
Investigators are also on the hunt for new witnesses by also keeping an eye on the social media posts surrounding the incident. A number of the posts mention about the presence of other people in the bus at the time of the alleged crime who refrained to engage in the same and weren’t active participants. Detectives are making a plea to all those witnesses who haven’t already spoken to the investigators to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233. SVU Detectives are also asking witnesses that may have seen, photographed, or recorded any activity around the bus between 10:30 p.m. August 31 and 2:00 a.m. September 1 to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
According to the court documents procured by The Spokesman-Review, the alleged victim was invited by DECAPITATED members to have drinks in the tour bus after the show at The Pin. And later the band members forced themselves on her against her will, as she was trapped in the bathroom while each band member took turns in engaging with her in non consensual sexual activity. The woman was later taken to a hospital where according to court documents, she was said to have injuries consistent with being restrained.
DECAPITATED‘s attorney Steve Graham told The Spokesman-Review that they are willing to “fully fight the allegations that are brought against them”, and that they are also “confident that the other side of this story will be heard.”
It could take up to 30 days until the accused band members are extradited.
