An Interview With Indian Death Metal Outfit DARKRYPT

From the western most corner of India, there spawns an unheralded force of dark, fast and intense death metal quartet that goes by the name of DARKRYPT, who are currently one among the rising forces when it comes to death metal in this part of the world. They formed back in 2013, with the vision of bassist Amey Bhole and Nachiket Bhave on guitars. After being around for a while with no output, Aumkar Lele and Rishabh Ravi joined in on drums and guitars respectively for the first complete and firm line up. Early 2014 saw Mihir Gaikwad joining the band on guitars but only for playing gigs. After a year in late 2015, Nachiket quit the band, and Mihir replaced the former axe-man’s boots as a permanent member from there on.

DARKRYPT are a fairly new band but they are absolutely killing it already. With their debut LP Delirious Excursion already out one year back via Indian label Transcending ObscurityDARKRYPT are already making a statement despite being this young in the circuit. Check out their debut LP provided at the end of the interview. Pssht! They have robed in Rogga Johansson of PAGANIZER and thus successfully creating a track where he has lend his fierce vocals. That is the cherry on top of the cake for sure. You really know what to expect when the mixing has been done by Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studios (CRUCIAMENTUM, CHTHE’ILIST, etc.) and mastering by the legend Dan Swano at Unisound Studios (ASPHYX, BLOODBATH, etc). Fast riffs, relentless and insane drumming, swift tempo changes and brutal gutturals straight from the bellowed depths of hell is what DARKRYPT stands for. We had the pleasure of having them for a short interview, as we talked about their new album, the upcoming Durance of Hate India Tour and a lot more. Check it out below,

PAGANIZER Release Upcoming Album Details [New Song Stream]

Swedish death metal masters, PAGANIZER who is pretty famous among the death metal legions has been wrecking chaos ever since they arose from the ashes of TERMINAL GRIP in 1998. They are known to play the trademark and classic Swedish Death Metal, a style which was created by veterans such as Entombed, Morbid, At The Gates etc, and like most if not every Swedish Death Metal band they also encapsulate the essential character of the distinct genre, the buzzsaw guitars. It is the trademark sound of most bands hailing from the viking north. Having released nine full-lengths, two best of/compilation albums, three splits and five EPs, they are ready to pulverize the masses with a tenth studio album, adding in to the ever increasing brutality of their warchest. ‘Land Of Weeping Souls‘, their upcoming tenth installment is ready and recorded and is slated for a summer release, on August 5th, 2017, out via Indian record label, Transcending Obscurity. Review: CHAOS – ‘All Against All’ [Official Video Stream]

Over the years, thrash metal has had quite a mixed bag of a journey, sometimes mostly deviating from the core of thrash metal itself to a more mass appealing sound even if hovering around in the metal boundaries. Some bands have changed the sound “to break the monotony” or in the name of “experimentation” so much that thrash metal kind of gets a bad rep once in a while especially these days. While this may excite some fans to the new sound approach, it may also lead the old school thrash lovers to much dismay, to an extent where some fans have questioned the genre’s long term existence. But as they as say “the grass is greener on the other side”, likewise there are a plethora of bands that don’t really compromise on their thrash sound. As thrash as it can be, they know how to deliver it. They couldn’t care less how mainstream the band next door allures itself or your fans into. All they know is to deliver thrash ever so gritty, fueled with anger and velocity. Such bands make sure you get what you want every time they deliver a single or one hell of a juggernaut of an album. Plague Throat Release “Fallible Transgression”[Official Video]

So, today’s news is something brutal. Yes, presenting you the new video release by Indian death metal band Plague Throat. So, Plague Throat are a death metal band from India, hailing from the city of Shillong, Meghalaya nestled beautifully on the peaceful hills of the North Eastern India. They rapidly rose to fame right after their highly acclaimed EP release back in 2013, entitled, ‘An Exordium To Contagion’, which set the ball rolling, especially creating havoc in the national underground scene. More success followed when they went on to represent India at the Wacken Open Air, 2014 edition, after triumphing in the national wacken metal battle finals. And ever since then, they haven’t turned back, but only continued to pulverize the fans here in India and abroad as well with their music and decimating live performances. I know cause I have had the honor of watching them live once when they shared the stage with the mighty Cannibal Corpse and deathcore stalwarts Suicide Silence in India. They have also opened for international hotshots like Dying Fetus, Carcass, Sikth, Fleshgod Apocalypse and Hacktivist. Continue reading

THE FUROR Unveil “Rampage Upon the Rational” From The Album ‘Cavalries of the Occult’ (3 Tracks Streaming)

Australian natives THE FUROR prepare an explosive concoction of death, black and thrash metal and the result is scathing to say the least. The bands not so secret weapon, drumming phenomenon Dizazter is part of Singaporean legends IMPIETY, but with THE FUROR he’s taking it to a different extreme. Mind-boggling drumming aside, his skills with guitars too are no less impressive and he has laid down all the songs for this album. Aided by guitarist Hellhound and The Grand Impaler on bass, THE FUROR whip up a storm of biblical proportions. From start to finish, the album is absolutely unforgiving but it has its share of clever variations and deft tempo changes without derailing the entire momentum. ‘Cavalries of the Occult’ will go down as one of the most venomous albums of its time. THE FUROR’S explosive ‘Cavalries of the Occult’ release, due out March 5th on Transcending Obscurity Records. The album was produced by Nizam Aziz of IMPIETY at Studio 47, in Singapore. The band just released the stream for  ‘Rampage Upon the Rational’, and were already streaming 2 other tracks from the album which are ‘Death Manifest’, and ‘The Flames of Fate’. These 3 tracks will give you a head start on the album before it releases tomorrow. This is an album you will not want to miss. ‘Cavalries of the Occult’ has instant appeal and will surely be a cult classic for years to come. Continue reading
