Alternative legends Cold have released the third track from their upcoming record, The Things We Can’t Stop, titled “The Devil We Know”. Listen to the new track here.
Scooter Ward explains how the song came about, “It evolved from me seeing people fighting on social media and on the news. People getting gaslighted daily. I had enough of all the noise from it. It’s basically a siren for the silent majority to stand up and take control back. A revolution.”
In support of the new record, Cold are hitting the road starting in Teaneck, NJ and finishing up October 20 in Lexington, KY. Tickets can be found here. Since their debut in 1997, Cold has gained a following with their songwriting and top-notch production, the affectionately named “Cold Army” is anticipating the new material from them.
In 2017, Ward began to look back into his “alternative roots” to create something new for Cold. Diving into The National, Placebo, and Interpol, he also became deeply invested in Nick Cave’s career by watching the documentary “One More Time With Feeling” over twenty times. Ward credits Cave for “breaking my block”.
The Things We Can’t Stop is due out September 13 via Napalm Records. To keep up with Cold and their upcoming releases/tours follow them on their website, Facebook, and Instagram.
