AC/DC is in the studio for probably the last time to work on a new album that will be dedicated to the late Malcolm Young and feature songs that the guitarist worked on. Young, who died in November of last year, had retired from the band due to early onset dementia.
The material that will be used is from what Malcolm recorded with his brother five years before their 2008 release, ‘Black Ice.’ A source told Dallas publication JAM Magazine:
“Turns out, five years prior to the ‘Black Ice’ LP, AC/DC’s 15th studio release, Angus and Malcolm Young lived to together [sic] where they literally wrote hundreds of songs, many were recorded and have been stashed away until now. Angus has decided to selected [sic] the best tracks from those recordings that Malcolm played on and is now back in the studio recording and mixing them with fellow band mates Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams and yes, Brian Johnson on vocals.”
Recently ex-vocalist Brian Johnson and ex-drummer Phil Rudd were photographed together in Vancouver, British Columbia, where AC/DC has recorded before. The duo was spotted in the alleyway to the studio by a fan in an apartment next door.
