Former Mötley Crüe members, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee are back in the studio working on a mystery project. The bassist and drummer haven’t worked together since the end of the Crüe in 2015.
Lee recently posted a video on his Instagram of him banging the drums. Three days later, he posted two more photos of him and Sixx in the studio with the caption, “It’s that new shit!!!!” With a noticeably missing Vince Neil and Mick Mars from the picture, there’s one other prominent figure in the shot – none other than mega-producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi, Skid Row) who produced Crüe’s 1989, six-times platinum-selling hit album ‘Dr Feelgood.’
Lee and Sixx haven’t made a comment on this or what they are planning. Many have thought that they might be working on music for their upcoming Netflix biopic ‘The Dirt,’ based on their 2001 autobiography.
