After spending much of the time in controversy last year and first half of this year, Polish death metal giants DECAPITATED are back on the driving wheel of what they do the best. With their latest album released just over a year back, the quartet are back with an all new crushing music video, “Kill The Cult“. The track comes from their latest album ‘Anticult‘, which was released July 7, 2017 via Nuclear Blast Records. The clip was directed by Lukasz Jaszak,who previously directed the music video for “Never” and created the cover art for DECAPITATED‘s three most recent albums.
In the later half of last year while touring the US, DECAPITATED were charged with rape and kidnapping of a girl on their tour bus. Immediately the news spread like a wildfire in the global metal scene. The band made a long post on social media describing their innocence and defending themselves. The band was held in the Spokane county Police department and also appeared in a court. But, tables turned and less than two weeks before the band were to go on trial in January for allegedly raping and kidnapping, Spokane County prosecutor Kelly Fritzgerald dropped all rape and kidnapping charges that were filed against the band, after filing a motion that stated, “the well being of the victim”, which also meant that the four members from DECAPITATED still stood the chance of being prosecuted in the future.
After the charges were dropped and they were announced innocent, guitarist Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka said that the band was “ready to return” and do what they do the best.
‘Anticult‘ highlights just how vital DECAPITATED have remained two decades deep into their career. DECAPITATED have long been undeniable masters of their craft and they are expanding their parameters with ‘Anticult‘, which should elevate the band’s profile beyond the death metal realm in which it has dominated for years.
“Anticult represents the legacy and future of Decapitated,” said guitarist Vogg. “We’re extremely proud of the record, in both the song compositions and the production. This is the best representation of our music and we’re really excited for the world to hear it!“
