The jack of all trades when it comes to melo-death, ARCH ENEMY is back with yet another trademark and beautiful music video for their second single ‘The Eagle Flies Alone‘ off the upcoming album ‘Will To Power‘, which is due out on September 8 via Century Media Records worldwide and True Trooper Entertainment in Japan. The video was directed by Patric Ullaeus, who has previously helped bands like IN FLAMES, AMARANTHE, DIMMU BORGIR, EVERGREY etc. with his artistic and visionary directing skills. The video looks cool and everything that has went in to the making of this video is just epic and awe inspiring. From production, which I would say is one of the most classy, exhilarating and of grandeur nature ARCH ENEMY has ever done, to the lighting, camera angles and close up shots, no stones have been left un-turned, everything in the video has been done to pin point perfection.
The new single sounds very epic, just what the band is traditionally known for. Michael Amott, with his incredibly melodious solos adds beauty to the brutality and heaviness of the track. The song treads on a mid tempo melodious and heavy riffs on a picturesque beach that makes the video look so much more professional and top notch quality. As always, ARCH ENEMY has managed to sneak in those harmonically guitar driven large and epic choruses in the song. All in all, I am very impressed with ‘The Eagle Flies Alone‘, which is a follow up track to their first music video ‘The World Is Yours‘, off the upcoming album, a much more aggressive and heavy sounding track than this. Michael Amott comments, “Strangely enough, this is a song I wrote in sunny Mexico last year, but fear not – Arch Enemy hasn’t gone Mariachi on you! On the contrary, this song is steeped in classic Metal and melancholic Scandinavian atmosphere. Lyrically, this is an anthemic warcry to all fellow individualists around the Heavy Metal world. We shot the video with our director Patric Ullaeus in Sweden on the coldest outdoor shoot I can recall ever doing! The end result was totally worth it, it turned out beautifully. I guess sometimes you really have to suffer for the art!“
