LOUDER THAN LIFE 2019: Dissecting The Daily Schedules

We’re a scant week-and-a-half from the return of LOUDER THAN LIFE, one of the nation’s premiere hard rock/heavy metal events. After flooding cruelly scuttled last year’s festivities, Danny Wimmer Presents worked with the city of Louisville to find a new home for the festival, settling on the Kentucky Expo Center’s Highland Festival Grounds (with “highland” being, hopefully, the operative word). 2019’s potent lineup packs some major firepower, with headliners GUNS N’ ROSES, SLIPKNOT, and DISTURBED alongside an array of current acts like HALESTORM, A DAY TO REMEMBER, and IN THIS MOMENT, rising stars such as DIRTY HONEY and CROWN LANDS, and metal mainstays like ROB ZOMBIE, GODSMACK, and MARILYN MANSON. A lineup of this magnitude will invariably force punters to make some hard choices between this band on that stage and that band on this stage; after poring over this year’s daily schedules, here are some of the weekend’s biggest scheduling snafus and how your intrepid reporter plans to unravel them.

I’ve said in the past that Big Sandy Superstore Arena knows how to host a rock show, and they do. But I’m not sure they, or the city of Huntington, West Virginia, has recovered from the all-out metal onslaught they witnessed when Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson unleashed Hell! This was only the third stop on the Twins of Evil: Hell Never Dies Tour, and if what I witnessed on this night is any indication of the Hell that’s going to be raised on this tour, the rest of the venues are in trouble! Michael Beinhorn is a legendary producer who’s work has spanned over four decades and countless genres. Spend New Year’s Eve At Ozzfest!

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and what better way to spend it by rocking it out to OzzFest 2018 with some of the greatest acts in modern rock music. New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles this year will see the man himself OZZY OSBOURNE headlining along with ROB ZOMBIE, MARILYN MANSON and a few more acts that are ready to entice you.

This 31st night, the show will take place at Los Angeles at the famed The Forum, which also includes an indoor and an outdoor large stage, some fun and frolic festivities, and some good food trucks. Joining the headliners are JONATHAN DAVIS, ZAKK SABBATH, BODY COUNT(first OzzFest debut performance), DEVILDRIVER and WEDNESDAY13. If this doesn’t convince you to get on those moshing boots, then I don’t know what will!
