Technical death core metallers, Rings Of Saturn, released their highly acclaimed fourth full length studio album, “Ultu Ulla,” on July 28th. The alien death core quartet presented an entirely new and esoteric proposition to heavy metal that led to their highest first week sales. The band released a new video discussing the album’s reception, what they have been up to since the release, and what they have in store for the remainder of 2017.
Here’s a real treat to make Tuesday burn! We are no strangers to Canada’s Oni. We have covered their live show (show), their newest offering of Ironshore on Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records (review) and even landed on our Best of 2016 list (list). F*ING LOVE THIS BAND, if it is not obvious! Earlier today, Oni premeired their creepy video for “The Only Cure” featuring guest vocalist and frontman for Lamb of God, Randy Blythe. The song was written by Jake Oni and deals with someone getting their chest cut open (How much more Metal can you get?!?). With a “Hollywood” level of production we are taken for a wild ride as the main character is captured by a serial killer and being subsequently executed in just that manner. Definitely not for the squeamish and probably not something you want to show off to your buddies at work with your boss looking over your shoulder! After directing Oni’s first video for “Eternal Recurrence”, Abraham Roofeh returns to bring this nightmare to vivid life in all its campy and bloody glory! Metal fans and horror movie buffs will freaking love this! Check the video out below. This 5th installment of National Metallica Video Release day now includes “Am I Savage”. This is the second video today directed by Herring & Herring. The masterminds behind Herring & Herring is Dimitri Scheblanov and Jesper Carlsen. Who are renowned international fashion photographers. The two are the founders of Herring & Herring Magazine. They directed the video released earlier titled “Now That We’re Dead” (6pm). Metallica also gave them the nod on a 3rd video for “Halo On Fire” which will be released at midnight. Continue reading
Today has become almost a national holiday for thrash lovers worldwide as Metallica continues their onslaught of video releases. Today has already seen the release of “Confusion” (2pm), “ManUNkind” (4pm), “Now That We’re Dead” (6pm) and now they have released “Here Comes Revenge”. This video was Directed by Jessica Cope. Of course Cope is no stranger to the film or directing world. Her latest project was ‘The Raven Who Refused To Sing’ – an animated music video for Steven Wilson (Storm Corrosion / Porcupine Tree). Canadian rockers, EAGLESON is powerful four piece act band. The band formed in 2011 and have perfected their sound. They have had some lineup changes, but the bands vision is now more clear. Eagleson has released a video for the self-titled song “Eagleson” which they recorded themselves. The band is on the brink of recording their second EP. The forthcoming EP will be the follow up to their previous release ‘White Buffalo’. This hard-hitting single outlines their story in getting to where they are now. The band has an overall rock feel, with some stoner elements. The vocals have this grit to them that keeps you craving more. The blackened thrashers from Asheville, North Carolina All Hell have released a video for “Graveyard Dust” which is by far my favorite track from their 2015 release The Red Sect. Make sure to catch them on their upcoming tour. We recently was able to catch them in their hometown and experience their amazing set by candlelight. The one man project Colucci has released a new lyric video for the song “Pushing”. Colucci is the solo project of the man it is named after, Gino Colucci, founder of Converse Records and also a member of the killer Chicago band Domestic Godzilla. The new song is a lyrically driven hard rock song with some nu-metal elements. Gino mentioned this when releasing the video “I recently finished this song. It’s about dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression and PTSD. Being a paramedic for over 15 years and firefighter for 8, that shit takes it’s toll mentally. It’s time for change and to get control of my health.
Many more guys and gals in emergency services have the same problem too. We’re seen as heroes so it can be hard to reach out and say “we’re not strong enough to deal with all this”. Some have tried CBD from places like Pure Hemp Farms to manage their stress and that’s a step in the right direction. Others have been dealing with it by bottling it up, which is not good at all. Its time for us to be more open with our struggles and try to find help.
This project has been very personal and therapeutic for me. You can download it free. Looking forward to better days! I wrote, performed, recorded, mixed all instruments vocals etc., the first of many to come.” The lyrics are heartfelt and touching. Gino has risked his life and saved many throughout his career as a fire fighter and paramedic in the Chicago, Illinois area. Kadavar have released the music video for “The Old Man” which will be on the upcoming album named after their hometown “Berlin”. It is the first song released off the album which will be the bands 3rd album. The song is the Kadavar we all know, and if you don’t know them yet you have been missing out. This song just gives us a tease of what to expect out of the new album, which will be some of the best acid rock around. The new album is being released by Nuclear Blast on August 21st.
