Dave Mustaine, the Grammy award-winning guitarist, lead singer, songwriter and founder of legendary band MEGADETH, is joining San Francisco-based startup Gimme Radio, the world’s only 24/7, all-metal streaming radio station as DJ and host of “The Dave Mustaine Show“. His first show will air TODAY at noon PT / 3 PM ET, with a new show airing at that time every Thursday.
Attention all ye people! GUS MCARTHUR, a hard rock/heavy metal outfit from San Diego, CA, is here to break all your Monday blues with their all new hard hitting music video, “End Of Eternity“. The band define themselves as a trans-dimensional being who transmits the music, style and imagery to the members of the band. Like wise, the music is “outta the world” too, dynamic riffing, pounding drums and an amalgamation of several musical genres which has thus resulted in the spawn of this space-time fabric ripper. Their songs and compositions are nothing but messages of this trans-dimensional obscurity known to us as GUS MCARTHUR. 2014 saw the formation of the band when two brothers Gordon “Gus the Hater” (lead vocals) and Sean Honan(guitar/vocals) decided to get along for a musical adventure; each from a different musical background. The two stood unhindered in making a perfect blend of their genres and influences, everything from the fastness of METALLICA, to the groove of rap metallers RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, to the vocal dexterity of QUEEN, and the lyrical geniosity of underground hip-hop. Now that’s some real good blending of ingredients from every spectrum of the musical palette!
In 2015, the band formed the complete line up when drummer Johnson “the Z” Zhang joined the brothers on board. There after they recorded and released their first EP, “Chapter 1: Hysterics“, in 2016, kicking off the legend of GUS MCARTHUR. The band’s aural assault is always evolving, combining their rock and metal inspirations with lyrical hip hop.
Annihilator is one of those bands you have heard about one way or another. Debuting with legendary thrash album ‘Alice In Hell’ and continuing the rage with albums such as ‘Set The World On Fire’, ‘Refresh The Demon’ and latest record ‘Triple Heat’ is something only they can say. A long list of former members, different line-ups and even record labels doesn’t slow Annihilator down, they have worked with what they had and make the absolute best of it and they will continue to do so. Even after three decades of what spawned as thrash metal in the suburbs of Bay Area, by sweaty, long haired dudes with an unforgiving punk attitude, it is overwhelming that thrash metal has survived every obstacle in its way. Likewise, the seismic waves of thrash metal have ever since traveled far and beyond continents. Similarly, from the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps, emerges a thrash squad who are adamant on not putting their foot off the throttle. CARNAGE INC. from Mumbai, India are taking forward the baton of Bay Area thrash metal and spreading the “carnage”!
CARNAGE INC. came into existence back in 2011. Hailing from the city of Mumbai, they are adding a new flavour and aggression to what we all dearly call thrash metal. Having shared the same passion for METALLICA, front man Varun and ex-drummer Olav thought, why not materialize this passion into something even bigger. And thus CARNAGE INC. saw the light of the day. Into their sixth year of existence, the band has released an EP, titled, ‘Fury Incarnate‘ through Indian label Transcending Obscurity last year’s summer. The debut EP has received a lot of deserved attention and has put them on the board of country’s rising bands. Fast riffing, lightning speed drumming, groove that will knock your heads off and rashy, pissed off vocals are what CARNAGE INC. offers to the listener for an aural assault.

Miles and oceans apart from the streets of San Francisco, the Bay Area, where thrash is said to have taken birth I bring to you a very talented and young band from the hills of Imphal, the capital of Manipur, an Indian state nestled amidst the serene and untouched greenery. LUCIFER-X are a five piece thrash metal outfit from the Asian nation of India and are already ravaging the local and national scene with their all new debut EP, titled, ‘Project Xtermination‘. It has just been a few days since its release on the 26th of September. After three years of it’s formation, the band have matured enough and are ready to deliver the first kill in the form of their debut EP. It’s fast, rude and an endless saga of thrash-tastic riff fest!
Three long decades ago when the denims were tight, leather jackets worn, ragged and hair unkempt in the golden era of 1980s, Steve “Zetro” Souza of EXODUS shouted in the song “Deranged” off the album “Pleasures Of The Flesh” in his raspy voice, “It doesn’t make me calmer, it only makes me mean“. Little did he know that those words would still carry the feeling and aggression portrayed in it, which is still relevant in today’s thrash metal and it is an innate characteristic of this highly erratic and fast sub-genre in the entire spectrum of metal. I quoted the above lyric because that is exactly what these four angry hot blooded young men from Belgium offer you in their latest sophomore release, “Feed Me Violence“, titled very aptly. Watch out for this fast paced, gritty and nerve wrecking thrash metal record from young guns EVIL INVADERS as the release date nears soon, coming out like a hot bomb via Napalm Records on September 29.
San Francisco Bay Area metal titans MACHINE HEAD, have announced the first U.S. tour dates of their world tour in support of their upcoming album, Catharsis.
Vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn adds, “It’s been far too long since we’ve demolished venues in America, we have had an awesome and productive break writing our new album Catharsis, but now it’s time for MACHINE HEAD to go melt some faces! The reaction to our last “Evening With” tours in America were nothing short of incredible, so once again these dates will be “Evening With” and will see us performing 2 1/2 to 3 hours every night with no opening bands.“

Stonking riffs, catchy grooves and angst-ridden vocals are all indefatigable qualities one can attribute to Athens-based thrash metal group THE CRUCIFIER. Formed in 1995, the group have released three demos, two EPs and two full-lengths. Their newest studio venture is an LP titled ‘Voices In My Head’ which is set to be released on 29 September 2017 via Punishment 18 Records. Northern Californian death metal quartet APOTHESARY are back with another round of tour dates starting this October in support of their recent album ‘Accept Loss Forever‘, released earlier this summer on M-Theory Audio. Joining them on tour will be heavy/thrash group GREEN DEATH, from Des Moines, Iowa, who will promote their all new EP ‘Pure Torture‘ – out now on EMP Label Group.
