It’s an incredibly hard task to narrow down all the amazing albums that released in 2016 to a short list of 25. This year seen the reunion of some amazing acts and we lost several iconic musicians. My personal top 25 albums of the year not only includes veteran acts that you are probably familiar with, but also brand new bands or lesser known bands that blew me away with their sound. There are just some bands that have a way of capturing you moments into the first track. We have been keeping you informed about everything associated with THE WATCHERS since we first heard about their formation. Vocalist Tim Narducci has long been a favorite musician of mine and I’ve followed and loved every band he has been a part of. The band has had a fast paced upstart. Since they began less than 6 months ago the band has formed, recorded their EP, released a video, signed to the amazing label Ripple Music, and booked their first west coast tour. The recently formed Bay Area band The Watchers have relinquished their first song for our listening pleasure. The track “Sabbath Highway” just sets an expectation of greatness simply by the name. The band first began with Tim Narducci and Chris “Cornbread” Lombardo as they exited their previous project Spiral Arms. With this duo keeping their musical chemistry together it raised the bar of what is expected from the new project we now know as The Watchers. You add Ex-Orchid drummer Carter Kennedy and The Venting Machine guitarist Jeremy Von Eppic to the band and my ears are expecting to hear great things. Let me tell you now that I wasn’t let down and I am highly anticipating the rest of their debut and seeing them in live. Check out “Sabbath Highway” below and you will likely become an instant fan.
You can keep up with The Watchers on Facebook here, and we will keep you posted as well.

The two have an amazing chemistry together and are also band mates in a ZZ Top tribute band called Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers. Cornbread made this announcement via Facebook: “OK kids! Here it is! Stick a fork in Spiralarms, Cause it’s done! But no tears shall be shed, for it is a happy day! Have no fear, The Watchers are here!!” Continue reading →
