Steel Panther have carved out quite the career for themselves, by not being themselves.  The band started out under the moniker Metal Skool, and quickly became the toast of the strip with their blistering covers sets of classics from Van Halen and countless other mainstays of the 80’s hair metal scene.  After changing the name the band would earn a name for their raunchy lyrics and over the top playing with a live show that was equal parts a metal show and a comedy set complete with stage banter that would make Sam Kinison blush. Louder Than Life 2017 – Louisville, KY DAY 1 REVIEW

It’s been about two weeks now since one of the biggest music festivals stormed through Louisville, KY and forever stamped the Louder Than Life name on the Bluegrass State, offering one of the best lineups the festival has ever hosted.  2 days, 37 bands, and 60,000+ ‘Loudmouths’ fueled by what seemed like an endless supply of alcohol and a desire to rock.  For many, (myself included) it was the first time attending the festivities, and I can assure you that I will be returning if the chance ever comes around again.  There were people from all walks of life, adults and children, goths, punks, rockers, any type of person you could think of – they were there. Chicago Open Air 2017 Day Two: Korn, Godsmack, Avatar, Clutch, Body Count, & More [Photo Gallery]

After an electric first day, it was time to get back up early Saturday morning to head in for day two of Chicago Open Air. Several great performances from bands like Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Anthrax, Crobot, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Code Orange, and more had all of us very interested to see if the second day could top it. With Korn, Godsmack, Avatar, Body Count, Clutch, and several others, we knew it would be very close.
