THE MELVINS Stream New Song “What’s Wrong With You”!

Hardcore punk or sludge metal legends THE MELVINS are adding one more feather to their long list of humongous catalogue. They are releasing a double album ‘A Walk With Love & Death on July 7 via Ipecac Recordings, and with that going on THE MELVINS are streaming a new song, ‘What’s Wrong With You‘ off the same album. 

The song features vocals from Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!), who is part of the band’s current recording and touring line-up, as well as That Dog‘s Anna Waronker

We love Steven! ‘What’s Wrong with You’ is a great addition to our long Melvins catalog,” proclaims Buzz Osborne. “There’s no other song on this record that sounds like it and that’s what makes it so cool!”, he further adds.

OVERKILL And CROWBAR Team Up To Headline ‘Metal Alliance US Tour 2017’

Thrash metal old gunners from New Jersey, OVERKILL are going to headline ‘Metal Alliance US Tour 2017‘ this coming September. Also joining in the line up is sludge metal band from New Orleans, CROWBAR, fellow thrash metal young guns HAVOKtechnical thrash metal band BLACK FAST and the recently formed INVIDIA, comprising of IN THIS MOMENT and Ex-FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH members. The tour will envelope the entire month of September, starting off at The Forge in Joliet, IL on September 8th, 2017 and bringing it to a close at the One Centre Square, Easton, PA on 30th of the same month. Chicago Open Air Spotlight: WHORES.

*Every Thursday from now until Chicago Open Air gets here we will be releasing an article about a band playing the festival to get you familiar with them.*

This week’s artist is Whores.

On Sunday July 16th, noise rock band Whores will be bringing their raw, massive sound to Chicago Open Air at Toyota Park. The trio formed in 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia and released their first EP, ‘Ruiner’ in 2011 via Brutal Panda Records. Following this, Whores released their second EP in 2013 titled ‘Clean’. It was produced by Ryan Boesch, who has worked with various bands like Helmet, The Foo Fighters, and Norma Jean (who is also playing Chicago Open Air). Last year, the band switched labels to eOne Music and released their first full length album, ‘Gold’. The record received a enormous amount of recognition from different websites and magazines like Rolling Stone, Invisible Oranges, and Metal Insider. The band delivers a loud, garage heavy sound that has caught the eye of several people. Continue reading
