SEVENDUST Guitarist John Connolly Says Writing Has Begun For New Album, Names Producer [Audio Available]

Last month SEVENDUST guitarist JOHN CONNOLLY‘S side project PROJECTED released their second album “Ignite My Insanity” through RatPak Records.  “Ignite My Insanity” is a double disc headbanger that links heavy riffs with melodic hooks and choruses.  PROJECTED is a super-group of sorts featuring members of SEVENDUST, ALTER BRIDGE, CREED, TRIMONTI and SUBMERSED.  We had the pleasure of spending some time with JOHN CONNOLLY.  In the conversation we spoke about the new PROJECTED record, writing, touring and the future of the mighty SEVENDUST.

SEVENDUST Announce Tour With CROBOT, RED TIDE RISING!

Sevendust still touring in support of their amazing album ‘Kill The Flaw’ has booked an amazing tour with killer cast of opening acts. The tour will kick off in Bloomington, Illinois on August 2nd with supporting acts Crobot and Red Tide Rising. Sevendust is riding high from their recent Grammy Nominated song “Thank You.” The special treat of this tour is the final date in Columbia, Missouri on August 20th which will feature a one off show that also includes Killswitch Engage.  Continue reading

Day 2 (Saturday) was the day I was anticipating the most. The lineup for Saturday was chock full of heavier bands that I had been wanting to see or already seen and love very much. The first band I got to see was Red Sun Rising. The band had this amazing intro that started up and then came to a screeching halt before kicking back in, the crowd lovingly applauded. It was just barely noon and these guys had more energy than half the bands the day before. It was nonstop movement on the stage as they played their hit songs “The Otherside” and “Emotionless.” Vocalist Mike Protich took this stance or pose on stage while singing that reminded me of the late great Scott Weiland. Not only was Mike mesmerizing on stage but his vocals sounded just as good live as on the record. Continue reading

It has been very hard to narrow down all the albums released this year into 25 selections and even harder to put them in order. Some of these albums came as a surprise to me and some I just can’t seem to put down, I love each and every one of these albums for some particular reason.
