Delivering hard hitting metal from Salisbury NC, BLACKWATER DROWNING have made a name for themselves playing on some of the biggest stages in the underground scene. With their mix of technical musicianship and brutal vocals, the band has shared those same stages with many international recording acts.
With the start of the New Year, the band made their way back into the studio to begin working on their follow up to their debut release, “Deity”. The first track from the band’s newly announced “Ruthless“ EP, “Violent Ends”, shows an evolution of the band, shining more light on their drummer, Chris Peavy, along with the addition of a rhythm guitarist, Chris Jones. Lead guitarist Jeremy Bennett shows off his fretboard pyrotechnics, with vocalist Morgan Riley delivering her signature brutal vocal delivery as well as added screams from Bassist Aria Novi. The new track is really borderline death metal vocals with almost the same temperament as that of death metal. The drums are hit with significant intensity, more than that the riffing is heavy, tuned down and perfectly blends together with Morgan’s tight vocal delivery.
American power trio PRONG has premiered the official music video for “Forced Into Tolerance,” off of their 2017 released “Zero Days” via Steamhammer Records. The band’s chief Tommy Victor explains the rebellious nature of the new music video, as follows,
“It represents the no frills, “in your face” relentlessness of the track. It’s our response to being told what to think and believe by everyone. Enjoy!“
Macedonia? Anyone? Betcha didn’t know any bands from the land of the great Alexander from Macedon! Alright let me do the honours of shedding some light on you in introducing one of the most creative and intriguing bands from Europe. Headbangers! introducing the ever so vibrant, and one of my all time favourites, ethno progressive(yeah, this too!) band CHROMATIC POINT,from the Balkan land of Macedonia(FYROM). “Chromatic” as they sound both musically and visually, the band incorporates every sense of the word and just goes on to show the frantic and seemingly chaotic nature of it’s sonic virtuosity. Just like the rapidly changing “flight of the bumblebee”. See what I did there? Yup, that was your daily dose of classical music puns!
All right let’s stop beating around the bush and get to the point. So, this Balkan progressive powerhouse has just unleashed their brand new music video, “Clockwork” today, which the band says has been taken off their “next studio material“. Let’s get dissecting the new chops!

Similarly, the music that comes out of this world class city is in no different league. Today, we bring to you another Metal Nexus exclusive music video premiere of the LA based alternative gothic/metal trio, SEVEN DAY SLEEP. The quartet are premiering their all new music video, “Down“, which is a cover of alternative/indie or dance/electronic duo of Marian Hill from Philadelphia. America’s real bad ass Zak Wylde’s band BLACK LABEL SOCIETY has unveiled it’s curtain on their all new music video, “A Love Unreal“, off their latest album, ‘Grimmest Hits‘, which came out on January 19, 2018 via Entertainment One Music. The video was directed by long-time collaborating director Justin Reich. LETTERS FROM THE COLONY are your newest prog kids on the block. Hailing from the small town of Borlänge, central Sweden the quintet is an amalgamation of young, artistic and exceptional musicians who are determined to channel their thoughts in a creative and at the same time, an extreme way. LETTERS FROM THE COLONY spawned back in 2010, and since the very first day of their existence they have been determined on bringing something new and virgin to the metal scene. Just adding the right amount of progressiveness, melded with extreme technical aspects the band now is ready to unleash their all new debut studio album, which is releasing tomorrow, out via Nuclear Blast. It’s a progressive extreme metal album, entitled, ‘Vignette‘.

Prior to this the band has unveiled two more singles of the very same upcoming album.
Normally a fierce hard rock/grunge group out of Palestine, Texas, BLACKTOP MOJO has put out a new and refreshing soft acoustic single, called “Underneath“. Treading the path of what majority of grunge rock bands do, that is, release a soft and heart touching number amidst the heavy hitting characteristic sound, the quintet has managed to pull off an excellent emotional single. Despite it being the norm, the song is definitely not just another brick in the wall(you see what I did there!). The song is about personal suffering and damage and it perfectly encapsulates the message it brings forth. Here’s drummer Nathan breaking down the meaning of the song for you,
“I’ve seen firsthand how bitterness and anger can destroy a person from the inside out. This song is about that, but also saying “I understand what happened, and I’m sorry you went through the painful things that brought you to this point” Keep your heart free , forgive people even if they don’t deserve it.“
