Mike Williams (The Agony Scene) “We Feel The Gap Between The Myspace Era & Facebook Era”

Coming straight out of Tulsa, Oklahoma The Agony Scene was formed in 2000. Inspired by bands like  Zao and Overcome the band set out as a three piece, but soon added a fourth member to round out the band. The band released three albums, beginning with their self-titled album in 2003 on Solid State Records. The majority of bands on the Solid State label were Christian bands; However, The Agony Scene in a later interview explained they were not a Christian band. followed up by ‘The Darkest Red’ on Roadrunner Records, and ‘Get Damned’ on Century Media Records om 2007. It wasn’t long after that album’s release that vocalist Mike Williams confirmed on October 8, 2008,  that the band had broken up early in that year. After 8 years the band decided it was time to put The Agony Scene back together and in August of 2016 they announced plans to tour and release a new full length album. The band has now released that album titled ‘Tormentor’, as July 20, 2018 via Outerloop Records.  Continue reading

EYEHATEGOD Frontman Mike IX Williams Needs Liver Transplant And Your Help!

Eye Hate God - Mike IX Williams

Eye Hate God – Mike IX Williams

Eyehategod frontman Mike IX Williams needs a liver transplant and his wife is asking fans to help pay for the life-saving treatment. We have known for a while something was going on with Mike as he stepped back from performing with Eyehategod this year, but his absence wasn’t really explained. Phil Anselmo and Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe have filled in for him at recent Eyehategod shows. Mike’s wife Michelle Maher-Williams has launched a crowdfunding page and given a full update on the singer’s health. She says Williams, 48, remains in hospital and that he will not be given a transplant until a number of medical bills are settled. Mike is not only an icon when it comes to sludge and extreme music, but he is also one of the nicest people you will meet. His wife also revealed that in December of 2014 the vocalist was hospitalized in Texas with a failing liver. Doctors eventually diagnosed Mike with cirrhosis of the liver and after meeting with a specialist, the singer changed his diet and lifestyle and began to see some improvement in his liver function. For people living with a condition like Cirrhosis, products such as nano glutathione are said to help improve the function of the liver. It is also about the individual trying to make a change too. This shows the amount of work that Mike has done to regain his health. Mike now needs your help. We all want to see Mike take the stage again and as of right now he is unable to leave the hospital. If you can help in any way we urge you to donate to this campaign to aid Mike in his medical expenses. Our thoughts are certainly with Mike, his family, and his band as well. However, for people who suffer from Cirrhosis, it can be difficult to get things like health insurance cover, so finding companies like Special Risk Managers, could help people suffering from this condition to get the healthcare they need.

UPDATE: The goal for the Crowdfunding Campaign has now been met, but everything additional stills helps as he will have many more expenses before leaving the hospital.

You can visit the Crowdfunding page here and show your support with a donation.
