Album Review: MANGOO – “The Heat” [Video Streams]

A follow-up to any sophomore release is a massive undertaking for any band, but especially so for one that has been in the works for a near half decade. Finnish rockers Mangoo have certainly let us sweat it out in anticipation since 2012’s Small Stone debut ‘Neverland’. Will you be ready when you fire up their latest offering? Can you handle ‘The Heat’?

The quintet have been firmly routed in the underground since 2005 with their self-released untitled debut EP, and were brought to domestic and international media attention with their first full-length ‘Neolithic’ (7:45 Records) in 2009 and subsequent sophomore ‘Neverland’. Each time Mangoo has been personally involved with the recording and production processes. Enabling them to keep the music entirely their own, allowing them a complete freedom over their sound and song writing. By this, the abundance of experimentation has kept them advancing forward at an astonishing rate in terms of growth and progression, and Mangoo have accomplished something truly special with ‘The Heat’ that drops this Friday 8th December via Small Stone Records. Watch Young CHESTER BENNINGTON Perform For GREY DAZE Before Joining LINKIN PARK

It has been one full day since the LINKIN PARK front man Chester Bennington has left scores of fans all across the globe spanning oceans and continents weeping at the horrific news of his suicide by hanging. On Thursday morning, the singer’s body was found hanged from a belt on a bedroom door inside the house in the 2800 block of Via Victoria, in Palos Verdes. The L.A. county coroner examined the scene and confirmed the news of the same. Bennigton suffered from depression and substance abuse since a long time. He had said in the past he had considered committing suicide because he had been abused as a child by an older male. The death of Chris Cornell who also bid us the same way as Chester did was said to have impacted him a lot, they were good buddies and Chester also sang at his funeral.

Ed Winter, the L.A. county medical examiner coroner confirmed the hanging on Friday and also said there was not a suicide note found in the scene. The autopsy is said to be pending and the toxicology reports are yet to be carried out.

Chris Cornell Dead At The Age Of 52

Picture taken at Carolina Rebellion 2017 just weeks before Cornell’s death.

The New York Times has reported that Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog & Audioslave has died as of 5/17/17 in Detroit as stated by his representative Brian Bumbery, he died at the yound age of 52. Brian has stated that the death was ”Sudden and unexpected” and that the family would be ”Working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause”.

It’s very sad to hear this news, realising he actually died moves me quite a lot. You forget how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away. When you have a family as Chris did, it’s so important to have life insurance. Since hearing the news, I have been reading things like this bestow review. You should always have insurance to protect your loved ones in case of a tragic loss of life.

For those of you that don’t know, Chris was born in 1964 in Seattle and started the band Soundgarden just 20 years later. He has been called one of or even the architect of grunge music. He has without a doubt meant a lot for the genre, he was the vocalist of Soundgarden since the beginning of the band and also after they got back together in 2010. Besides that he has been the singer of Audioslave from 2001 till 2007 and he has a solo carrier as well which people may know him of. Soundgarden has been one of the reasons grunge is a thing now and we should be really thankful for that. He moved so many people with his musical style, personality and appearance that many people got inspired to make music just because of Chris so after hearing this sad news I really am devastated.

All my thoughts go to his family, friends and the people he worked with. He may not be longer amongst us but his music will always live on. May Chris Cornell rest peacefully.

Review: God Am – S/T EP

godam

On the outskirts of Indianapolis, Indiana you will find one of the most appealing bands I have heard in some time. The band God Am formed in 2012 and have been putting in some major hours to hone their sound and get exactly where they want to be. The band released their debut EP on May 16th. The group have made waves throughout the region in Indiana and this EP is sure to turn those small waves into more of a tidal wave. After just finishing this EP the band is already hard at work a follow up to this debut and have 3 songs in the books written already. They will soon begin touring Indiana and surrounding areas and we can only hope a venue in our area will be lucky enough to book them. We had the honor of checking out the debut and are sure you will be just as impressed as we were. Continue reading
