Who doesn’t love SLAYER‘s ‘Raining Blood‘, one of the career defining and probably the most identified flagship SLAYER song, or maybe even the entire genre’s. Thrash metal has had some sort of weird love connection with rap, it all started when ANTHRAX did a collaboration with hip hop group PUBLIC ENEMY and thus kickstarted the rap metal wagon. Today after many years of their first coitus we see these two joining hands in another form. Hip hop legend, actor, vocalist and front man Ice T‘s band BODY COUNT has released yet another video from their all brand new album, ‘Bloodlust‘ and it is a rendition of SLAYER‘s ‘Raining Blood‘ with a twist as the song ends with the outro of ‘Postmortem‘. The BODY COUNT cover is known as ‘Raining In Blood/Postmortem‘. The song begins off with a short insight as Ice T explains why and how he formed the band when he saw kids mosh to hip hop songs and thought why not form a metal band by pulling in inspiration and influences from legendary acts like the BLACK SABBATH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and SLAYER. ARCH ENEMY Releases New Music Video For “The World Is Yours” (Official Music Video)

Probably one of the biggest cards on the deck of melodic death metal, ARCH ENEMY has released their new official music video for the single, ‘The World Is Yours‘ from their all new upcoming tenth album in the catalog, entitled, ‘Will To Power‘ due out on September 8 through Century Media Records and via True Trooper Entertainment in Japan. The video was directed by Patric Ullaeus, who has previously helped bands like IN FLAMES, AMARANTHE, DIMMU BORGIR, EVERGREY etc. with his artistic and visionary directing skills. The video looks cool and everything that has went in to the making of this video is just epic and awe inspiring. From production, which I would say is one of the most classy, exhilarating and of grandeur nature ARCH ENEMY has ever done, to the lighting, camera angles and close up shots, no stones have been left un-turned, everything in the video has been done to pin point perfection.

JOSH TODD & THE CONFLICT has recently released a killer music video titled, ‘Year Of The Tiger‘ from their upcoming debut album, “Year Of The Tiger“, due out September 15 on Century Media Records, which features members from BUCKCHERRY(California). Chris Cuffaro who has also previously shared his work with PEARL JAM, GEORGE MICHAEL responsible for the direction of this video.

Speaking about the first single and title track, Josh says,
“The album’s title track, ‘Year Of The Tiger’, was one of the first songs we wrote for the record and also became one of my favorite songs I have ever written. Like most good songs, it came together very quickly. As soon as Stevie sent me the music, the lyrics and melodies poured out of me.“

He further adds, “I’m a huge fan of ‘Hannibal’ and the show ‘Narcos’, while also being into the big cats. In ‘Hannibal’, they had a character that would feed despicable people to his pigs and I thought that was pretty demented and interesting. Also, I am always fascinated with people that have the balls to choose a life of crime, so this track is about a guy living on the edge with a manhunt going on for his life ending in death by tigers.“ Continue reading →

ARCH ENEMY Announce New Album Details and First Leg Of Tour Dates

Can 2017 get any more exciting with all these cool album releases ? Probably one of the biggest cards on the deck of melodic death metal ARCH ENEMY just released details about their new upcoming studio album, just three years after their 2014 album,’War Eternal’ which saw Alissa White-Gluz(ex-The Agonist and Kamelot) debut on vocals after ferocious front woman Angela Gossow’s departure from the band and choosing to take the driving wheel on managing the band. This is going to be Alissa’s second album with the band. They successfully nailed down the ‘War Eternal’ album cycle with a world tour finishing it off by releasing the ‘As The Stages Burn!’ DVD recorded in their epic headlining performance in Wacken Open Air, 2016. Yes, presenting to you Swedish death metal super-group Firespawn, rising from the ashes of the classic death metal act Entombed after its breakdown and featuring death metal stalwarts like Lars Göran Petrov (ex-Entombed) and Victor Brandt (ex-Entombed), Alex Friberg (bass; Necrophobic), Fredrik Folkare (guitar; Unleashed, ex-Necrophobic) and Matte Modin (drums; ex-Dark Funeral, Defleshed). This is one very strong super-group and is surely sending those chills down everyone’s spine since their 2015 debut album, ‘Shadow Realms‘. From the cradle of death metal in Stockholm, Firespawn is the collaboration of death metal veterans who have put out excellent records in their previous bands and have created a legacy of their own.
