Review: THE ACACIA STRAIN – ‘Gravebloom’ [Official Videos]

The Acacia Strain is a deathcore band from Conneticut, US with some dark yet clear downtempo influences. The band started out really heavy with its first release ‘3750’ in 2004. Albums like ‘The Dead Walk’ and ‘Continent‘ pushed forward the heavy death core, almost death metal, sound the band originally had. The band took a big turn in its sound with the release ‘Wormwood’. The downtempo influences really started to break through on this album. This is also the first album that features the famous ”Bird” on the cover art. Just 2 years later The Acacia Strain let us know that they were still capable of making some kick ass music and so they did with the release of ‘Death Is The Only Mortal’.  Latest and maybe even their best work yet, ‘Coma Witch’, gave us everything we loved about the band. Last year the band collaborated to create ‘The Depression Sessions’ with death core pioneers Thy Art Is Murder. This isn’t all of it yet, Fit For An Autopsy also worked hard on this Split. They are one of the best upcoming death core bands at this very moment, check them out HERE! The long awaited upcoming album ‘Gravebloom’ will release via Rise Records in just 3 days, 30th of June. A new The Acacia Strain is just what we needed in a world full of disappointments!

Into The Grave Spotlight: EMBER FALLS

Ember Falls is a Finnish metalcore band that I bet you haven’t heard about yet, if you have then you know what we are in for. They released their first ever single ”Shut Down With Me” on the 20th of August 2015 without a record label. As soon as people found out about the song they went crazy, the songwriting is exceptional and their sound is unique. Duo to this huge succes the record label Spinefarm / Universal Music Group got in touch with them and gave them a spot on their label. After this crazy start they decided to release their debut album ‘Welcome To Ember Falls’ and I got to tell you, I do feel very welcome. It got out on the 20th of February this year and it for sure got them higher into the game. (Listen to it on spotify HERE). I have never heard anything similar, really looking forward on hearing them at Into The Grave this August!

This month’s state is North Carolina!

Welcome to the fierce world known as Black Ritual. Coming from Charlotte, North Carolina the band consists of: Charlie Calebro (Vocals), Gary Rackley (Guitar), Eddie “E-Rock” Cousins (Bass), Jody Gibson (Guitar) and Brad Sellers (Drums). They have been around 10 years playing in the local music scene and supporting their fellow musicians, Black Ritual is firmly grounded in their own unique style. With their original hardcore, thrash, southern, power groove metal, and melodic sounds and influences, this band aims to stand apart from the rest. Guitarist Gary Rackley is quoted, “We just want to make every song its own, our own. For each song to sound different in more ways than the last” Always ready to throw down whether in the studio or onstage, this band brings the energy and the passion of music. With all the members having a rock solid history in playing live music, they bring heavy rhythms, blood curdling vocals, chunky guitars, and a stage performance that’s sure to get the crowd pumped and moving. In 2008, the band released their debut album ‘1,000 Yard Stare’. After a six year hiatus and trying different avenues the band knew that Black Ritual is where they belonged. The beginning of 2017, Black Ritual released a three song EP named ‘Resurrection’. One thing that the crowd can be certain of is that they are going to see an amazing and unforgettable show by this band. Black Ritual have created their mark in the metal scene and will continue to do so for years to come. Continue reading

SLIPKNOT Announce Documentary ‘Day Of The Gusano’!

Slipknot is from Iowa, United States and they are the biggest Nu-Metal band from it’s genre, they are filled with hatred, anger and passion. The world started to be a better place since their first full self titled album ‘Slipknot’ that got released via Roadrunner Records on the 29th of June 1999. 2 years later Slipknot came back to reign hell again with my all time favorite album ‘Iowa’, this masterpiece is filled with abomination. In 2004 they released ‘Vol. 3 Subliminal Verses’ which features the band’s anthem song ”Pulse Of The Maggots”. ‘All Hope Is Gone’ got out in the year 2008 and touches more on the instrumental side of the band, don’t worry it is still filled with rage! Latest album ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ from 2014 is dedicated to their former bassist Paul Gray who died on the 24th of May 2010, for everyone that lost someone in their life this is the album to listen to. It is dark, heavy and really emotional.

For all the people that don’t know the band so well their fans are called ”Maggots” and all the band members have specific numbers, they also wear mask and with every album they change it. The mask shows us what is going on deep inside the member. This is their way of expressing themselves. So with that out of the way we can continue with the news!
