The Acacia Strain is a deathcore band from Conneticut, US with some dark yet clear downtempo influences. The band started out really heavy with its first release ‘3750’ in 2004. Albums like ‘The Dead Walk’ and ‘Continent‘ pushed forward the heavy death core, almost death metal, sound the band originally had. The band took a big turn in its sound with the release ‘Wormwood’. The downtempo influences really started to break through on this album. This is also the first album that features the famous ”Bird” on the cover art. Just 2 years later The Acacia Strain let us know that they were still capable of making some kick ass music and so they did with the release of ‘Death Is The Only Mortal’. Latest and maybe even their best work yet, ‘Coma Witch’, gave us everything we loved about the band. Last year the band collaborated to create ‘The Depression Sessions’ with death core pioneers Thy Art Is Murder. This isn’t all of it yet, Fit For An Autopsy also worked hard on this Split. They are one of the best upcoming death core bands at this very moment, check them out HERE! The long awaited upcoming album ‘Gravebloom’ will release via Rise Records in just 3 days, 30th of June. A new The Acacia Strain is just what we needed in a world full of disappointments!
Spite is without a doubt the angriest deathcore band from the USA. They have released some anger with their Self Titled album ‘Spite’ that got released in the year 2015. There is also a deluxe edition available of their Self Titled album for you crazy motherfuckers, get it HERE! Next to that insanely agressive and arm breaking album they released 2 singles that go by the name of ”Despise” and ”IED” (both are linked at the end of the page), today ”Kill Or Be Killed” will be added!
Ember Falls is a Finnish metalcore band that I bet you haven’t heard about yet, if you have then you know what we are in for. They released their first ever single ”Shut Down With Me” on the 20th of August 2015 without a record label. As soon as people found out about the song they went crazy, the songwriting is exceptional and their sound is unique. Duo to this huge succes the record label Spinefarm / Universal Music Group got in touch with them and gave them a spot on their label. After this crazy start they decided to release their debut album ‘Welcome To Ember Falls’ and I got to tell you, I do feel very welcome. It got out on the 20th of February this year and it for sure got them higher into the game. (Listen to it on spotify HERE). I have never heard anything similar, really looking forward on hearing them at Into The Grave this August!

This month’s state is North Carolina!
Welcome to the fierce world known as Black Ritual. Coming from Charlotte, North Carolina the band consists of: Charlie Calebro (Vocals), Gary Rackley (Guitar), Eddie “E-Rock” Cousins (Bass), Jody Gibson (Guitar) and Brad Sellers (Drums). They have been around 10 years playing in the local music scene and supporting their fellow musicians, Black Ritual is firmly grounded in their own unique style. With their original hardcore, thrash, southern, power groove metal, and melodic sounds and influences, this band aims to stand apart from the rest. Guitarist Gary Rackley is quoted, “We just want to make every song its own, our own. For each song to sound different in more ways than the last” Always ready to throw down whether in the studio or onstage, this band brings the energy and the passion of music. With all the members having a rock solid history in playing live music, they bring heavy rhythms, blood curdling vocals, chunky guitars, and a stage performance that’s sure to get the crowd pumped and moving. In 2008, the band released their debut album ‘1,000 Yard Stare’. After a six year hiatus and trying different avenues the band knew that Black Ritual is where they belonged. The beginning of 2017, Black Ritual released a three song EP named ‘Resurrection’. One thing that the crowd can be certain of is that they are going to see an amazing and unforgettable show by this band. Black Ritual have created their mark in the metal scene and will continue to do so for years to come. Continue reading →
Slipknot is from Iowa, United States and they are the biggest Nu-Metal band from it’s genre, they are filled with hatred, anger and passion. The world started to be a better place since their first full self titled album ‘Slipknot’ that got released via Roadrunner Records on the 29th of June 1999. 2 years later Slipknot came back to reign hell again with my all time favorite album ‘Iowa’, this masterpiece is filled with abomination. In 2004 they released ‘Vol. 3 Subliminal Verses’ which features the band’s anthem song ”Pulse Of The Maggots”. ‘All Hope Is Gone’ got out in the year 2008 and touches more on the instrumental side of the band, don’t worry it is still filled with rage! Latest album ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ from 2014 is dedicated to their former bassist Paul Gray who died on the 24th of May 2010, for everyone that lost someone in their life this is the album to listen to. It is dark, heavy and really emotional.
For all the people that don’t know the band so well their fans are called ”Maggots” and all the band members have specific numbers, they also wear mask and with every album they change it. The mask shows us what is going on deep inside the member. This is their way of expressing themselves. So with that out of the way we can continue with the news!
Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons is led by the former Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell and 3 of his own sons, those sons play on the drum, bass and guitar. Their vocalist is Neil Starr, he has been known for fitting the roll of vocalist/rhythm guitar for the band Attack! Attack!. Together they make an awesome Rock & Roll band! It is very good to see Phil continuing making more music after Lemmy’s death, he would be proud! They have released 2 EP’s so far, their ‘Self Titled’ one and their ‘Live At Solothurn’ EP, both will rock you out of your chair! I have linked some songs at the end of this article for all of you awesome rockers out there, I already can’t get enough of the band!
Metalcore kings Parkway Drive just released their live video of ”Vice Grip” of the album ‘IRE’ yesterday, June 21, and it is breathtaking! I wonder if this band even needs an introduction but for those 2 people living under some rocks next to the bridge, here we go! Continue reading →

This month’s State is North Carolina!
Today we are going to be talking about the death metal band Daedalvs from yet again North Carolina. They are a 4 piece band that consists of vocalist Pancho Mortem, drummer Aaron Charlton with assistance on the guitars from Spencer Starnes and Christian Chadwick. Daedalvs has been one of the most unique sounding upcoming bands I have ever seen. There is a lot of competition in the death metal scene but these guys push the boundries like no other band does, in no time they will be on the top! So far they have released 1 EP named ‘Apotheosis’, this masterpiece has been around since the 24th of February via the biggest death metal label SLAM WORLDWIDE. Just 4 days before this release they released their single ”God Machine” which is from that very same album, this song really got death metal fans talking about the band. For everyone that hasn’t heard of SLAM WORLDWIDE before I will introduce you to them real quick. As quoted by the owner the page is about ”ONE MAN PROMOTING MACHINE BRINGING YOU ONLY THE HEAVIEST UNDERGROUND MUSIC AROUND THE WORLD SINCE 2014.”. So any underground heavy band is welcome on this brutal page, luckily for us Daedalvs has claimed their spot and we can only hope for more awesome music!
After The Departure is an upcoming metalcore band from Leeds. England. They are currently unsigned but they will be signed before you can say the word breakdown. Talking about breakdowns this band has one of the most interesting and refreshing one’s in their music. If this isn’t a reason to check these guys out then knowing that they have released a new song ”Clarity” and that they will release their Self titled album today on the 17th of June. You can’t pass their debut EP ‘My Waking Hour’ though because it will launch you into something exciting and show you the roots of the band. Vocalist Phil Dearman with screamer Greg Forbes along side of guitarist and vocalist Jordan Saggu, guitarist Tom Wiseman, bassist Josh Godfrey and drummer Ben Hewitt will show you that they are coming to take over the stage so be aware!
When you mention the word metal in Brooklyn it will be likely that you will stumble upon the band Tombs. They are signed to the one and only Metal Blade Records and currently consist of 3 members. Tombs has known a lot of musicians will all different styles yet they have always stayed the great metal band with black metal like vocals. Guitarist Evan Void and drummer Charlie Schmid have both joined the band in 2014, vocalist Mike Hill on the other hand has stayed with the band since the beginning (2007). Tomorrow on the 16th of June they will release their 4th album ‘The Grand Annihilation’ which will be available for purchase worldwide. The EP ‘Winter Hours’ has created their pathway into the local Brooklyn scene where the albums ‘Fear Is The Weapon’, ‘Path Of Totality’ and ‘Savage Gold’ from 2014. Eventhough they have changed their line-up multiple times all these albums sound like the Tombs we all adore, EP ‘All Empires Fall‘ from 2016 has pointed the band in the right direction to create more awesome music. ‘The Grand Annihilation’ is all we ever wanted and more!
