STEPHEN PEARCY, SINFUL LILLY, KISS KISS BANG Rock The Stage In Hazard, KY [Photo Gallery]

The Stephen Pearcy Band

As the first round of rain from the storm that was “Harvey” was making its way into Eastern Kentucky I find myself heading to The Forum in Hazard, Kentucky. Why The Forum you ask? Because if you’re a Rock n Roll fan in Eastern Kentucky and haven’t been living under a rock, you know The Forum is the place to be!  In the last year and a half Napier Promotions (Greg Napier) has brought some very talented bands through Hazard and The Forum. The Winery Dogs, Stryper, Dokken, Warrant, LA Guns, The Tom Keifer Band, Last In Line and Rival Sons along with a host of opening acts. All have played the big stage at The Forum.

Thursday night at The Forum was no different! Stephen Pearcy the front man of Ratt brought his extremely talented solo band to Hazard along with a pair of Kentucky bands Kiss Kiss Bang and Sinful Lilly.

Who ever said Rock N Roll was dead didn’t travel around the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Both opening acts this night are representing Rock music and Kentucky loudly and proudly!

Kiss Kiss Bang

Kiss Kiss Bang call Bowling Green, KY home. They made the 4 hour or so trip out to Hazard to introduce themselves to the rock fans in Eastern Kentucky. Judging from the reactions I heard it was a successful introduction! Trevor Smith – Vocals/Guitars, Andrew Hopper – Bass/Vocals, Malcolm Booher – Guitar and Corban Burke – Drums/Vocals they absolutely brought it to the Forum! They burned through several songs from their debut album ‘Open Wide‘ including “Kiss Kiss Bang”, “Friend”, “Don’t Ya Think”,“Supa Fine Shugga” and closed out with “Are You High” Great sounding band with super stage presence. I left The Forum a fan! Looking forward to seeing them again, soon!

Sinful Lilly

Richmond Kentucky’s Sinful Lilly are no stranger to The Forum or Eastern Kentucky for that matter. The trio attacked the stage next and it was a frontal assault! Fredi, Nikki and Trey were full throttle from the start. They tore straight into “Anti You”, “Wait Your Turn”, then a cover of the Ace Frehley song “Rip It Out” by request from fellow photographer Taylor Burgess. They completed their set with “Truth Or Consequence”.  A high octane show that not only delivers musically but entertaining as well as they move about on stage and include an array of eye appealing specialties. They delivered the goods as we’ve come to expect from them!

The Stephen Pearcy band

If you had told me in 1986 that in 2017 I would be in a photo pit five feet from the voice of Ratt, I would have told you that you’d lost your mind! I was a senior in high school and photographing rock stars was the last thing on my mind! But that’s exactly what was happening, Stephen Pearcy stood in front of me singing “You’re in Love”, “Lay in Down” and “Lack Of Communication”. Those were just the first three songs of what was to be an impressive set list that included many of Ratt’s greatest hits, “Ten Miles Wide” a track from his latest solo album ‘Smash’ and an impressive cover of “Heading Out to the Highway” by the might metal legends Judas Priest. Closing out the night with “Back For More” and the song who’s video put Ratt on MTV every time you turned over to MTV “Round and Round”.

It was a great night of music in Hazard, KY!
