Every band has the dream of performing for a sea of fans on a massive stage right? Not only could those dreams come true but your band could also be the opening act for legends in the rock and metal world like Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne (Featuring Zakk Wylde), Korn, Slayer, Megadeth, Godsmack, Rob Zombie and Stone Sour. BLIND GUARDIAN recently announced that they are going to release a live album entitled, ‘Live Beyond The Spheres‘ after just two years of releasing their last studio album, ‘Beyond The Red Mirror’ in 2015. The live album will actually be a compilation of their best tracks into one show taken from 40 different concerts recorded during their European Tour in 2015, which surprisingly also happens to be the first BLIND GUARDIAN live album in almost 15 years. It promises to be an exhilarating indulgence in what could possibly turn out to be one of the best power metal live albums. The live album will contain 22 tracks, encompassing timeless hits like ‘The Bard’s Song (In The Forest)‘, ‘Valhalla‘ and ‘Mirror Mirror‘, to rather rarely performed songs like ‘And There Was Silence’. The record will be purchasable as a 3CD-digipak as well as a 4LP-box-set.

Hardcore punk or sludge metal legends THE MELVINS are adding one more feather to their long list of humongous catalogue. They are releasing a double album ‘A Walk With Love & Death‘ on July 7 via Ipecac Recordings, and with that going on THE MELVINS are streaming a new song, ‘What’s Wrong With You‘ off the same album. 

The song features vocals from Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!), who is part of the band’s current recording and touring line-up, as well as That Dog‘s Anna Waronker. 

“We love Steven! ‘What’s Wrong with You’ is a great addition to our long Melvins catalog,” proclaims Buzz Osborne. “There’s no other song on this record that sounds like it and that’s what makes it so cool!”, he further adds.

Slipknot is from Iowa, United States and they are the biggest Nu-Metal band from it’s genre, they are filled with hatred,anger and passion. The world started to be a better place since their first full self titled album ‘Slipknot’ that got released via Roadrunner Records on the 29th of June 1999. 2 years later Slipknot came back to reign hell again with my all time favorite album ‘Iowa’, this masterpiece is filled with abomination. In 2004 they released ‘Vol. 3 Subliminal Verses’ which features the band’s anthem song ”Pulse Of The Maggots”. ‘All Hope Is Gone’ got out in the year 2008 and touches more on the instrumental side of the band, don’t worry it is still filled with rage! Latest album ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ from 2014 is dedicated to their former bassist Paul Gray who died on the 24th of May 2010, for everyone that lost someone in their life this is the album to listen to. It is dark, heavy and really emotional.

For all the people that don’t know the band so well their fans are called ”Maggots” and all the band members have specific numbers, they also wear mask and with every album they change it. The mask shows us what is going on deep inside the member. This is their way of expressing themselves. So with that out of the way we can continue with the news!

Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons is led by the former Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell and 3 of his own sons, those sons play on the drum, bass and guitar. Their vocalist is Neil Starr, he has been known for fitting the roll of vocalist/rhythm guitar for the band Attack! Attack!. Together they make an awesome Rock & Roll band! It is very good to see Phil continuing making more music after Lemmy’s death, he would be proud! They have released 2 EP’s so far, their ‘Self Titled’ one and their ‘Live At Solothurn’ EP, both will rock you out of your chair! I have linked some songs at the end of this article for all of you awesome rockers out there, I already can’t get enough of the band!

Riverdogs are back! Despite a heap of support from fans and critics, the band’s  1990 debut album ‘Riverdogs’ received an underwhelmed reception from their record label, which eventually forced each member to pursue different interests.  However, the group reunited in 1993 to release follow-up albums ‘Absolutely Live’ and ‘Bone’.  The guys continued working together and recording, however the songs wouldn’t be heard until 2011 with the release of ‘World Gone Mad’, courtesy of MelodicRock Records, which contains various recording sessions from 2003 to 2010.  Since then, Riverdogs have teamed up with Frontier Records SRL to release the upcoming 2017 album, ‘California’, due out July 7th. Today’s artist is Demon Hunter.

It all began in the year 2000 in Seattle, Washington for the band Demon Hunter. Formed by brothers Don Clark and Ryan Clark. Although the brothers created the band, only one remains, since Don Clark has left the band back in 2009. Demon Hunter is a Christian band that combines nu metal, groove and some metalcore to create their unique sound. The bands self titled debut was released in 2002 via the Christian record label Solid State and it was recorded entirely in drop c tuning. The debut was produced by Aaron Sprinkle (MxPx, New Found Glory). Every album the band has recorded has been released through Solid State. The label isn’t their only loyalty either, each release was also either produced or co-produced by Aaron Sprinkle. It shows that the band truly found a sound and process that works for them and they’ve stuck with it.  Continue reading →
