Review: ACCEPT – ‘The Rise Of Chaos’ [Official Videos]

My first encounter of ACCEPT is still vivid and it does evoke the exact feelings the band’s music walked me through couple of years down the line, when I stumbled across their legendary song ‘Balls To The Wall‘ of their 1983 album of the same name, which is more than just an album. It is a phenomenon to be honest! Their last three albums have been doing pretty well, with the band achieving more success than they had in their entire career, with Mark Tornillo on vocals it also happens to be my favourites along with a couple of old school classics from the Udo era. After a hiatus and hitting back to the grind in 2009, ACCEPT have been pretty much putting out consistently power packed albums with a cycle of touring followed by the release of each album. They’ve been busy you can tell, and to hit that off at this age even after 30+ years of existence is worth a huge round of applause.

The teutonic titans are here to continue the legacy and deliver more good old school metal to the masses as they are just a knock away from the release of their 15th studio album, ‘The Rise of Chaos’, which comes out crashing through the gates on the 4th of August via Nuclear Blast Records. Back with a new line up and rejuvenated spirit, ACCEPT are pretty much consistent with what they do and hence further cements the fact why they are your old school go-to boys, with this record.

The Bucketlist With CROBOT’s Brandon Yeagley! [Video]

Crobot

In this series we pose the age old questions to a wide array of music lovers. As fans of music most of us keep a mental list of active bands we want to see live that we haven’t yet seen. The Bucketlist brings to you those lists of your favorite artists and why those bands mean so much to them.

With only two widely released studio albums, Crobot already has a large array of hits in their catalogue to get the crowd moving quickly. I love every single song on ‘Something Supernatural’; it’s a record that demands to be listened from front to back when you spin it. Two songs that were largely played on the radio include the opening tracks on the record, “Nowhere to Hide” and “Legend of the Spaceborne Killer”. Just last year, the band released their second record via Wind-Up Records with ‘Welcome to Fat City’. Songs like “Not for Sale” and “Plague of the Mammoths” (an amazing show opener) became quick favorites. The band still showcased their strong mix of hard/stoner rock that makes you want to get up and move. Crobot has a throwback retro kinda sound that both modern music lovers and old school metalheads can enjoy.  Continue reading

REVIEW: MOTOGRATER Do Not Disappoint With ‘Desolation’

As a writer, it’s a bit of an exciting game of “What will they do next?” when it comes to bands releasing new material.  Some bands change their sound, some bands change their look, and then there are bands that invent instruments.  Okay, maybe that last one is a little less frequent than the others, but it does happen and in 1995, Motograter became one of those bands. Sepultura & Aborted With Support Of Killing Cult Society Live In Hedon Zwolle, Holland!

When I heard that legendary thrash metal band Sepultura would be playing near me in Hedon Zwolle I instantly got my tickets to the show. They weren’t coming alone, they brought death metal band Aborted with supporting band Killing Cult Society. Even though I had never heard Killing Cult Society I had high hopes because you don’t become the support band for Sepultura for nothing! Before we go any further I need to talk about the venue, Hedon Zwolle. This has been my second time being there and yet again right after the doors were open you felt welcomed. Everything was well organized and the staff was friendly and easy to talk to. I am really happy about this venue and I am glad that I am lucky enough to live close to it. Already looking forward to being there again!

Watch OBITUARY Perform “Sentence Day” In Their Video

Tampa Bay Florida Death Metal Godfathers OBITUARY have shared the official live video accompanying Sentence Day off the band’s self-titled full-length album. The video was filmed in stunning 4k by Magnetar Studios at several locations on the band’s headlining tour with GRUESOME earlier this year. Watch OBITUARY perform Sentence Day below.

The band comments on the video and song: “We are super excited to bring you guys another music video from the new album. This video was extra fun for the band as we invited James to ride along with us for a couple shows and get onstage/offstage and crowd footage then his entire crew met up with us and filmed a show with multi-camera angles. ‘Sentence Day‘ is one of our favorite songs on the album and definitely a fan favorite so we are proud to bring you guys this video. Matt Heafy and co’s new single sounds heavy, furiously fast and the usual groovy that the band carries along with it as a trademark.

In the meantime, the Orlando, Florida-based band will spend this August lighting up Europe, starting tomorrow which includes appearances at such hard rock and metal festivals as Germany’s Wacken Open Air, Austria’s Jolly Roger Festival, Poland’s Woodstock Festival and more along with headline dates featuring support from Obituary and Bury Tomorrow (See attached itinerary).
